HBR for awhile i tried to convert myself. had no luck. i forget where i found it. i think on some random website. sorry i didn't know who to give credit to. i'll add your name in later.
your from switzerland? playing on EU? i can't vouch for EU maps if they are upto date or not. all US maps should be perfect.
1.3 might have also causes bugs with my map. i havn't actually checked yet.

In fact there is already a SC2-BW combo map out there, but it sucks badly. One based on this mod would be so much better! I would lean toward the SC2 macro-mechanics (I like larvae inject and chrono boost), but keep the BW cliff vision. Since SC2 is based on broodwar at some level I don’t think balance would be that bad. And potentially it would have more variety and options than either SC2 or BW. I am working on one, but its taking a long long LONG time to figure out. Basically been testing it for almost a year with masters players, changing, adding, removing, re-adding, re-removing and resetting things. The hardest part is actually figuring out what NOT to change, because if you change too much, people won't want to play it. All thanks to Maverck the process has been much easier though, before the reaver was added I was stuck for ages on that part. I assumed the release would have the reaver, but it didn't. A lot of things like that happened where simply I wanted to remove units, but the replacement didn't exist. I have played BW so the mechanics part was easy to implement. I have implemented Muta micro slightly differently for example, its a bit more complicated (uses 2 weapons that alternate depending on speed) but more like BW. I have no idea how Maverck got the slow spread to work though, I would really like to found out how he did that. I plan to script a custom ladder system for it by grabbing data from sc2ranks, I am considering creating a BW ladder as well when I get it working.
Sluggaslamoo that sounds amazing. I would love to help play-test it, when you have a finished version.

Buhhy, in 3ds max, go down to the polygon level, select all polygons, and add the Edit Normals Modifier. If you see the handles pointing inwards, they're inverted.
And/or you could apply the Normal modifier and tick the flip box, collapse.
If not, try checking your material if they are two sided. This seems to create some problems for some folks. Either way, it should be easy to fix.
About this map/mod that dumbs movement, where can we get a hold of it?

All EU maps are up to date, I think its even impossible they use differrent assets files...

Really? When i search for "sc2bw" on eu the only maps that are up to date are Python, Othello, Heartbreak Ridge, Big Game Hunters. Match Point, Grandline, Poloaris are still older versions. Am i searching for the wrong thing? i really want more maps

the old versions are because one user (ohdamm or something like that) stopped uploading a few months ago and did not remove these maps, maybe maverick could PM him to do that. I think I will start adding version number to map names now, since map info isnt show by default in custom games now
as to the number of aviable maps - since you can only add so many files from one account (there are 5 more dependency files that you have to upload so that the maps work)

Aha well i hosted the first one but it was a bit of a failure, as the majority of the games failed, didnt happen, noshows etc
I might do another lower stakes one in the future where people can turn up on the day but we will see i guess
Basically the main problem is loads of people STILL don't know about this map, and we cant get away with talking about in general sc2 to garner attention. Hopefully when the map is really 100% done there could be another announcement and a big opening ceremony and stuff

This is cool! I am on the EU servers and I uploaded the Custom Assets dependencies (I want to make some maps with this) and I wanted to upload the Data mod as well but it said that the music mods were missing. It appears they aren't included in the download in the original post. Could you please upload those too?
P.S. Damn, this will take up half or more of my hosting quota :-/

Oh wait, I just read some of the posts before me and sounds like all the dependencies are already hosted on EU. But I can't find them when I search for "sc2bw" or "brood war". Are they locked or what am I doing wrong?

well the uploaded dependecies are not shared between users. Did you ask MavercK for permission? You should ask him to give them to you

I didn't ask for permission, I thought it would be okay since the download link is available to anyone. (and the only reason to download a SC2 mod is to host it isn't it?)
Also, hosting the same data multiple times on the same servers is very inefficient considering the file sizes involved. Only one person should have to sacrifice 50% of their hosting space, not more.
But if I'm wrong please tell me and I will remove the files immediately from my hosting space.

you should ask  the music dependencies are included in older versions. i dont include them everytime because they dont change so no reason to.

Ahh k, 2sided materials did it for me.

For a still-temporary version, as you said if it had that TINY bit of light flicking off it like that Viking, it would fit flawlessly. Amazing job. Seriously all the modelers for this project so far have created absolutely superb work.
