I certainly don't underestimate Life, he's great. Saying that he dismantled Taeja sounds like Taeja was playing his best and getting shut down which I don't think is the case, though.
Life's playstyle is unrelentless, a.k.a. the kind that easily forces errors. From TaeJa's point of view he probably had a harder time playing his best compared to usual solely due to the type of play he was matched against.
Yeah i guess that's totally true but it's not like Taeja hasn't faced, and destroyed, that kind of play before. I was dissapointed in his play even though i'm not really a fanboy. If i would replace my liquibet, it would still be on Taeja. (not so with mvp vs rain. silly brain, mvp doesn't lose)
I think Mvp wins. Life has quite a prefered style of play that Mvp could exploit.
It's still impressive how Mvp manages to win so much, even when people call him "not as good" or when he has an injury. He does live up to his namesake: "I am, M.V.P."

How the fuck do you win 5 of the biggest tournament in Starcraft 2 and not be considered dominant? It is a mystery.
They were all scattered over 2 years, and the sheer volume of tournaments (and variability of opponents) in SC2 greatly outweighs its predecessor.
14 Top 4 Finishes in "premier" tournaments. 8 golds.
The only one in his neighborhood is MC with 15 Top 4's, but only 4 golds.
People forget how dominate Mvp really is, because he just does it efficiently and quietly.
I explained to you why Mvp is not considered dominant by some people, not whether he really is dominant. That would require more statistical analysis that simply listing his accomplishments.

he still won so much more than anyone else i mean MC wins alot aswell but he attends like 3-5 times more tournaments than mvp
mvp has the perfect mix of godly macro, strong micro (i believe there are better players though), an incredible decision making paired with perfectly chosen builds almost in any longer series
and probably best of all: he is capable of playing ANY build to almost perfection - he does a slow paced mech with heavy hellion aggression, a fast paced tank marine, ultra greedy and ultra all in-ish plays like noone else can do it on this level
he never recklessly attacks into ppl unless absolutely certain he can take a fight, he doesn't drop a gazillion marines/marauder into well defended areas like MKP or MMA
thats why he is the most dominant player to play this game and truefully deserves this title before anybody else
mvp's wins aren't often as spectacular like gumiho's or MMA's but for gods sake, he wins because he plays that way and not because he wants to produce clutch games
He is the most dominant player in SC2 history but his dominance extended over two main spurts.
To be honest, I was really disappointed with Rain's last game. Come on, he had like 4 Colossi vs. 8 Vikings? That Marine and Marauder army should be dead before it could even attack for few seconds, but Rain a-clicked like a boss, and all his Colossi were bugging themselves and were auto-attacking bunch of SCVs... He played so godly up to that point, and than that happened...
But oh well, at least I was surprised by Life, he played really well. Teaja didn't stand a chance(but didn't play on his top level imo).
The GSL is a tournament that plays to Mvp's strengths. He is incredibly strong at long series with preparation against a single opponent. He isn't particularly dominant in the early rounds of Code S compared to players like Life and Taeja because of the short-match, multiple-opponent format. Similarly, Mvp was pretty lackluster in teamleagues and 2-3 day foreign tournaments; players like Taeja, capable of taking whatever is thrown at him, excel in such situations. Mvp really shines in the later rounds of Code S, where his vast repertoire, excellent preparation, and perseverance are most important. Life is good, but this is Mvp's format.
Sad Taeja lost He's been performing quite badly recently. I mean, he lost to Byul the other day 0-2. Byul, out of all people. But it's okay. I love Life just as much :D
Still, being a terran I'm still rooting for Mvp in the finals.
This is the finals we deserved for this crazy, crazy season. Mvp vs Life. Reminds me of the hype and situation of season two finals, which the games did not disappoint.

Rain 3 - 1 Mvp
I'm just poking fun .
Rain isn't an elephant though. 50% record in standard leagues is pretty impressive, especially for a fairly new player, but it isn't elephant material.
This GSL doesn't disappoint, i was hyped at the beginning, i still am. The games are godly, the players are confident and amazing...
Prediction: MVP plays at home, GSL's finals are exactly the way he likes, lengthy series with a lot of preparation and time to react to a peculiar stylistic way to play. I think Life has yet to experience a final and as confident as he can be, when you're a 15 y/o boy on stage with a gigantic prize pool, you have to feel nervous, he earned the respect of many but has yet to learn to give respect for the one who already has 4 gsls in his pocket. MVP is not one to be mocked. MKP and Parting are still alive to tell the tale.
I was sad when I found out July retired this year but it's OK now because Life is his reincarnation. I wonder if July coached him at all seeing as they are/were both StarTale? July also got to the finals but lost...
