He is incredibly strong at long series with preparation against a single opponent. He isn't particularly dominant in the early rounds of Code S compared to players like Life and Taeja because of the short-match, multiple-opponent format. Similarly, Mvp was pretty lackluster in teamleagues and 2-3 day foreign tournaments; players like Taeja, capable of taking whatever is thrown at him, excel in such situations. Mvp really shines in the later rounds of Code S, where his vast repertoire, excellent preparation, and perseverance are most important. Life is good, but this is Mvp's format.
Mvp 4-1 Life Mvp is lackluster in tournaments with no preparation? He has won MLG, IEM, WCG and Blizzcon. Hell, he even fought his way through the open bracket at MLG Providence to finish 4th despite the disadvantage of not being seeded into the tournament. All of these tournaments were 2-3 day tournaments. You're right, he's totally better when he can prepare, but he is still very good when he can't. The fact that Mvp is somehow bad in tournaments with no preparation is a MYTH. Yeah he didn't do well in a few tournaments he went to in early 2012, but who does well in every tournament he goes to? Can't think of any.
He even fought his way through the open bracket at MLG Providence to finish 4th despite the disadvantage of not being seeded into the tournament -> He recorded 26-5 thou he started from open bracket and experienced many long macro games which made him really tired. Plus He was the only terran player in Top 8. (while mma and others below Top 20 or something)

Debatable. no other tournament allows for such preparation time. Scrappy tournament play during long drawn out endurance style days != the best of anyones play. 10 hours into the final day of MLG all i imagine is that each player is playing exactly like they do when they decide to grind the ladder for an entire day. No real coaching or studying of their opponent, just raw off the cuff games.

Well Taeja played really bad but is good to have a TvZ final and Mvp will win he's my favorite player

It's very, very silly to see people now claiming that MVP is better than Taeja. Two weeks ago, this board cried out that he was "the best player in the world."
MVP, the "pull all scvs" terran, is a waste of time. I hope Life demolishes him, just so people can stop cheering for a player that relies and examining his opponents replays, rather than pure talent and skill.
Skillwise; Taeja is far better than MVP.
Go Life!

So basically you are saying Taeja doesnt know how to examine replays and rely simply on skill alone?
We understand that Mvp is nowhere near his 2011 dominance, and if you actually compare is skill then and now you'll realize he was actually a lot better then. His smart play is what makes him so nice to cheer for, instead of another MKP.
They play this game to win, not to show off how good they are at using a mouse/keyboard.
And no, we wont stop cheering for Mvp even if Life demolishes him. We'll just urge him to go get surgery or something lol

There's something fishy about this post, it's probably a bait.

Or a really bad player who likes to whine against scv pulls

Twice the hype, double the fall.

Problem is that Life isn't gonna be able to kill Mvp as easily (mainly cuz his games vs Taeja are huge tells for Mvp) and he's not that good of a macro zerg, game 3 clearly showed that. If it goes late, Mvp should have this ez. Dno what Life can do... seems like playing his own super aggressive style vs Mvp is suicide. I feel like his only shot is to go for super precise unusual timings and execute them prefectly. Else he dead.

There are many different tournament formats, and the best player in the world will show that he can win in all of them.

MKP was beating his Korean peers convincingly in those foreign tournaments. Taeja was doing the same. Winning the GSL does not make you the best player in the world; that is a terrible misconception. I don't think winning a GSL makes you the best player in the world, but I don't think someone can be called the best player in the world if they haven't won a GSL.

wow, i totally did not see that coming. i thought for sure taeja had this in the bag!!!!

yes Taeja is so good that he got eliminated in the semis whereas Mvp is going to the grand finals.

MVP almost always lost to MMA i don't think any smart person would argue that MMA is better than MVP though. People don't think about how long Taeja has been around and he started doing well recently, I agree that right now he is almost unstoppable. But I feel like he is going to fall off pretty soon.

life's agressive lair style remind me of zerg in 2011 e.g julyzerg. but immvp man he knows how to deal with this, he has 70% win rate against zerg in 2011

Can't believe Taeja lost so badly. This summer he just went on a complete tear and I was expecting him to sweep through Life easily. I'm guessing he got too cocky. :L
