That WILL happen, even if life only won with 1 drone or somthing like that. If MVP wins, everybody will just be saying that MVP is best player of all-time. If Life wins, everybody will just be saying zerg is OP. Personally, i think Life should win as SC2 WOL should have at least one Royal Roader win. Such a chance is rarely to come by. Doesn't matter if MVP loses here or not To me, MVP has already solidified himself as the best Terran and essentially best player of all-time in WOL. 2 Finals in a year? Winning one of them and potential another one? Coupled with his first GSL win back in January 2011,MVP has been really consistent with some short slump. (MLG,WCG,IEM) are just some of his titles.

Now, don't confuse overhyped with bad, because I actually think he is quite good, but when it came down to it he was expected by the majority of people to win last night I think. In the end, despite how close it was, he lost to MVP, a guy who can't be brought up it seems without mentioning that he is a shadow of his former self. The MKP comparison is more applicable to Taeja, but it works for both of them. If you remember the first half of this year, everyone was ready to crown MKP the best player in the world, on the basis of a bunch of random foreign tournament wins. When it came time for him to deliver in the GSL however, he was never able to come close to matching his foreign success. I wasn't trying to say that either Rain or Taeja were similar in playstyle to MKP, only that they are both being called contenders to be the best player in the world (or at least their race) without winning a GSL, much like MKP. Well...Rain kinda fulfilled that hype. He made it to the Ro4 while annihilating almost everyone in his path, used a vastly different playstyle that hadn't been seen in over a year, and almost beat the most successful SC2 player of all time. Even if his fans vastly overrated how well he should've done against Mvp, more sensible people were calling the matchup even. It definitely played out like an even matchup. MKP was beating his Korean peers convincingly in those foreign tournaments. Taeja was doing the same. Winning the GSL does not make you the best player in the world; that is a terrible misconception. On October 11 2012 14:28 TheLetterQ wrote: It is a mismatch of styles. Life isn't bad by any means, but MVP specifically is the type of player that I don't think his playstyle will do too well against. They both rely on mindgames more than anything to win, but MVP is better at it with a lot more experience. There was another finals with two players with kind of similar strengths facing off, Nestea vs Losira. In the end, the player that most would agree was better, Nestea, absolutely crushed. In addition, Life is known to favor aggressive strategies, and MVP doesn't tend to lose to those kind of players, at least in the GSL when he has time to prepare. Finally, though I am fairly sure it is just interview trash talk and nothing too serious, it would be stupid and insulting for Life to actually think he will achieve anything like a 4-1. He could definitely win, but if he does it will be close. There was a mismatch of "styles" in the Round of 4. Taeja was supposed to come out of that with the win. MarineKing was more experienced and he was supposed to win. It's ironic that a lot of people are using generalizations to claim that Life is not favored in this match, when he is defying expectations the same way Mvp has been doing over the last six months. Mvp was "supposed" to be hobbled due to his injury, he was "supposed" to be mechanically inferior to the younger terrans. And yet he won IEM Cologne and GSL Season 2 despite facing "better" opponents. Nestea was the best ZvZ player in the world at that point in time. Losira never depended on mindgames. In fact he was absolutely terrible at mindgames for the vast majority of his career, and relied upon his mechanics to win in the mid-lategame; Losira used to be infamous for losing his hatchery against 2 rax since he could never see it coming. In addition he was playing against his "mentor" which was a very large disadvantage. Life only favors aggressive strategies when he can spot timing windows in his opponent's builds. Did everyone just magically forget his series against IMHappy? The one with no baneling busts and fast hive in every game? He's not stubborn and limited like MarineKing, who is stylistically limited since he only has two builds in TvZ and the followups are exactly the same. It's just trash talking. Life is a very confident player but he's also a pretty nice guy.
He crushed Taeja, and Taeja, on a decent day is better than MVP. [/quote Sure, that's why MvP is in the final, and had already win 4 title, and Taeja isn't. TaeJa had a really great summer, but this is not summer anymore, he will go back to be a good player, as before, but not winning everything. Life is unpredictable ? well, it's an agressive zerg player, that only can help MvP planning something. But it's true that it's an harder opponent than Taeja for MVP. all my prediction came true, now i only need MvP to loose.... and i'm not overconfident about that ! I still think that Life can win, but it will be a 4/3 series.
Life is really predictable. He goes ling baneling every game. It owned MKP and Taeja because they go bio. MVP is mech master and will shit on it.

I am more concerned for MVP health than his winnings. If you are an IM fan, you will be more concerned about MVP conditions rather than him winning games. His condition is actually very serious. I hope after this season he takes a LONG BREAK to recover. But i guess not. MVP is pushing himself because he knows if he takes a long break,he will fall behind. But honestly. Health always come first.

We may have differing opinions on what a fan is but I guess I think it's supporting the players whatever they decide. They know the exact situation, we don't, how do we know what is best for them? I 100% support the IM team and coach. MVP and his coach want him to win, so I do too. Him losing won't get him any closer to being healed.
