The thing i dont understand, is how much hype they created around this. In my opinion its kinda a dick move towards TL. GL to Huk though.

Ive actually been a HuK fan since beta. I rooted for him when most people thought he was an all micro brat. I have followed him ever since. And honestly I am dissapointed now. Ofcourse I wish all the best for HuK, but I also question the long term benefits for him, coming from this. I think the hype, the way this news was served to me, compounded my dissapointment. HuK was on my favorite team. I think this way of promoting yourself as a team is pretty incensitive, and undermines EGs reputation as professionals. Why? Because the work that went into this pointed to something greater than a player buyout.

He is a legend, a player with top 3 control in the world. Nicknames such as Huk Norris seemed to fit him after the DreamHack dominance. I salute you Chris! May your time in EG be good and I hope you can keep out from IdrA's rage ![]() You will still be remember as Liquid'Huk for a long time. But we all have to move on I guess... Good luck and have fun! PS. Now I understand why HuK and IdrA smiled at eachother after they shook hands at the NA Battle.net Invitational.

I can't really blame Huk, on declining this offer, and i will still support him as before, but once again it makes me dislike EG even more. Buying players from smaller team that put all their energy into training them instead of actually focusing on improving their own mediocre players is not a way of creating a team that i appreciate. I guess its the E from EG heh... I really hope that this will not deteriorate Huk's practice conditions. Even if "Idra to Korea" is a good point in the announcement, Idra and Puma dont really cut it compared to the whole oGs house :/

Pretty clear to me at this point that they made a big mistake in selecting this money grubbing little garden gnome but that doesn't mean he's to blame, it's just a single instance of bad judgement on the behalf of TL management. User was temp banned for this post.

However, as this thread shows, there are a lot of different oppinions regarding HuK's choice in this matter. It is, of course, a loss for TL in the immediate, but I think that this will be a long-term benefit - not only for HuK himself - but for the foreigner scene as a whole. With HuK signing with EG, he, PuMa and IdrA will be playing together in Korea. And with IdrA's presence in the GSL, we will surely see more "foreigner-attention" towards the Korean SC2-scene. My personal belief is that the more top foreigners that go to Korea, the better they will get. And when the foreigners improve in skill, the entire SC2-scene will become more competitive. Hats off to Liquid and EG for executing this transfer as smoothly and proffesional as possible, and big luck to EG.IdrA and EG.HuK as they embark on an epic quest to retrieve the glorious GSL trophy!
