If you look there were five of them on the ground, in my opinion placed there to get Empy to investigate them. As he bent down Cottonmouth stabbed him with a nail, then stabbed 6 more in him. This means Cottonmouth was carrying them. He didn't just pick them up off the ground.

Would be a good strat to make the town think you are useful and good at clue interpretations to throw them off any trail. I think the saboteur should be gaining the towns trust. Even if you lay low your going to be found out by clues and power of deduction. If you manage to gain the towns trust sometimes they will overlook clues pointing at you etc etc.
I'm not saying this is what MTF is doing, I'm just saying it is a possibility. But I must say some of the clues brought up are good, and if he is mafia then he is either hanging other mafia out to dry, which would be interesting, or throwing us off the scent.

Yeah we should probably make sure we are relatively sure L is mafia and not actually another medic. We (the town) don't want to be responsible for 3 medic deaths, we're basically doing the Mafias job for them.
That being said, I still trust the judgment of Ace and seeing as we don't have any other way to check L out, I will let him decide on what to do, since he is the only one holding the cards for the town.
