Which players decide who to attack with and which players decide who to block with? Can you attack and block with a monster at the same time? If not, what determines if you are able to attack or you have to block? (i.e someone's "turn" in attacking came before yours)
Can different players "team up" in a "same turn" to attack you? For instance a creature from player A has banding....and decides to band with a creature from player B to attack player C or something?
Yeah I'm not sure I really get how the Attack Phase will work.
Also can players use stuff from other players as well or something (if they agree) like that banding situation?
Ehmm....I think those will be all the questions for now ![](/mirror/smilies/puh2.gif)
Also Prob, I know you are saying "Gonzaw obvious mafia, his accusations feel forced and he's too aggressive" by now in the Obs QT so shut up >_> /gonzaw To my knowledge, if you attack with a creature, you cannot block with it that attack phase unless it has vigilance. During the attack phase, people may choose to attack whenever they wish, but this will tap their creature and thus be unable to block with it.
Multiple players can attack a single player if they wish. Players cannot block for other players. If one player has a card with "banding", it can only band with other creatures that that player controls. Banding is so esoteric though that I doubt it will come into play.
Artanis will have final word on things, though. He's asleep.
Probe isn't in the Obs QT yet. Speaking of which, if you want in, PM me or Artanis.

I'm pretty scared actually. That deck is one that will get stronger every turn. I hate Slivers with a passion, when GreYMisT said he was using them I silently thanked god that I was just obs'ing.
Mostly I'm trembling in my boots and hoping that GreY is town and figures out that I am too.
So, what do you see that we can do during this first cycle where we can't attack that will help us pressure scum and actually gain something?

I just went through my entire deck to make sure, and it's true, I have 0 cards with reach or flying
So we cannot attack today? Well there goes my idea of all killing him asap

I assume we can't, I'll ask.
do the summoning sickness rules apply?

We can "weaken" him (get rid of his creatures and lands, etc) if we are not sure of his alignment, instead of killing him. That way in the case he's town he can still contribute to the thread with opinions/etc, but if he's scum he won't be as powerful as he could with his deck.
I have a card that can get rid of his monster I think, so if we are ever in doubt I can always use it on one of his flying creatures. I won't do shit until we see how he acts though.
@ET: Okay I get it, it's basically a "free-for all" in which everybody attacks whoever they want, and after that phase they have to choose which remaining creatures they use to block attacks from other players? So there are 2 phases in it, attacking and blocking, right?
Can abilities or effects be used in between these instances? For instance, if one creature has the ability "Tap red mana to increase power by +1/+1 until the end of the turn", can I tap a mountain and use that ability between the attacking phase and blocking phase?
For instance, that creature has 1/2; but after the attacking phase a 2/2 monster attacks him. Since I want my monster to survive, before blocking I use his ability, get him to 2/3, and successfully block the attack (killing the other monster but having mine survive).
Or are there no cards with that kind of effects in this game?

Or are there no cards with that kind of effects in this game? Most likely, need to consult Artanis. Will completely iron things out before the first attack phase. Yes. Lol fishing for info.

We at the Riptide research center only intened to control our slivers for the good of mankind. what could possibly go wrong.

I don't think there is any inherent advantage that deck revealing will give us. Our decks will be revealed in the first 2 turns, or this one just by the colors played. in addition, mafia don't need to have good decks at all to win this game.
That being said I do not think that "planning out a card playing strategy" is a good idea at all. Treat this like a normal magic multiplayer game with a subgroup of mafia members (lol). If im in a game and my enemies lay out a strategy, I now know its weak points. While we lose coordination, I feel that is a good price to pay for not allowing the mafia to screw us.
The above goes for the town as a whole. I understand the fear that my deck causes, and I am willing to accomidate a "soft claim" of my hand as the game progresses. The sliver strat really doesnt vary based on what knowledge my opponent has.
Everyone can be rest assured that I'm not going to go wacko on everyone, I'm not dumb enough to play a sliver deck and make everyone an enemy.

Artanis said no instances (or they would be treated as sorceries) and only instances can be played during that time.

lol no.
Artanis said there were no Instants in this game (or were not treated as such) Perhaps there are no "instant abilities" either (i.e abilities that can be used in other phases other than the Main Phase)

I'm not talking about spells, I'm talking about creature abilities (like that "Tap to get +1/+1 until end of turn" thing)

I see, This would be important to know for some decks
|
I think all decks have at least 1 or 2 creatures, and most creatures have a tapping ability (well, at least the "popular" ones or the ones I see Artanis putting in this game), and those can be used in any phase, so yeah it's important.
|
Yes, they are in the game I can confirm I hope they can be used always
|
I'll refrain from saying anything more because I noobie, but to my knowledge, spells/abilities that affect the combat phase should be allowed in some shape or form. The main idea is that there shouldn't be any moments where timing is the deciding factor in spell/combat resolution.

This activity is sad, I guess I have to wait for you USA peeps

EBWOP: Oh ya I casted Fauna Shaman

This game is gonna be insane :D

Lemme just sort out my hand and work out whats going on.

If I cock something up let me know, not played for a while, nor do I know a great deal of meta game. I have to agree about the fear of Grey, but I have no reason to think him mafia as of yet, but I could see a potential problem emerging.

I get a feeling you guys are all from the US? (different timezone) I woke up and suddenly 2 extra pages. That's reason I hadn't posted yet.
I don't quite see any advantage in the tap lands global thing? If someone wants to cast they'll just cast before as everyone has done.
I'm all for the revealing decks to each other idea.
