Lynching lurkers I don't believe falls under policy lynch- they are someone who has a habit or repeatedly refused to provide insight and it works against town. Less posting means less to analyze which makes determining alignment- whether town or scum- much more difficult. Some people can get away with very few posts, but they also provide HUGE amoutns of info in those few posts to make up for it.
I think day1 is to early to start actually killing them because I've frequently seen people that have horrible day1's, but they're fine after the fact.
And LaL is common sense, town has no need to lie, only scum and the insane need lie.
It is possible for town can use lies/misinformation in a pro-town manner.
First example off the top of my head was a game I was in a few months ago where our 1shot vig pretended to be a full vig, and ended up getting the scum to have to act accordingly. Pretty much won it for us when it hit 4 man MYLO (I died two days before after sacrificing myself to make a cleared townie)

We never get to see how kenpachi plays a game, if he is helpful, etc, etc, etc... we just kill him instantly and the guy probably goes "why the hell did I even join this game?"
Then this game, people start pushing him towards the fire, and then he just gets pissed off because he thinks its going to be just like every other game... I felt bad for the guy. I mean seriously, he has been in a few mafia games and never gets to see a later part of the game.
To me, this is akin to lynching a new mafia player on day 1, people just don't do it because it diminishes the community. Kenpachi isn't having fun, even though he keeps trying to come back and play...

Yes because scum don't want to set the president that 3 votes kills a player, town obviously wants it so that a small number can easily kill people without any checks in order to allow some sort of a team to kill players without taking any notice... yup, that's exactly what a scum would do :/.
