I love how CTV is saying Canada came in 13th place for medals won when they reported Canada as first at the Winter Olympics with most gold medals won (which is how the IOC ranks it afaik). We really came in 35th...
And that "Bell Social Scene" bs segment they had needs to fucking go. If I was a follower of that crap, I'd probably be watching Gilmore girl re-runs and not the Olympics.
Am I the only one that thinks CTV's coverage of these Olympics took a nosedive from the 2010 games?

Well, to me winter olympics is less important simply because the winter sports are so huge in a certain nabouring country so I can get coverage easily. I completely agree with the russian that the thing making the summer olympics that great is that we normally get 60 % soccer and the rest is shared between other sports (In Denmark it is mostly handball, road cycling, tennis, badminton and athletics). A few times we get news on rowing, sailing and swimming, but archery has no coverage at all even though Denmark is up and coming in female ranks. Same goes for shooting, track cycling, wresling and kayak where some danish athletes are doing very well too. Judo, fencing, diving, volleyball and basketball are lucky to get 1 news out of app. 6000 in a year.

The BSC's host helps with my eyes though..
and anyone knows why does the olympic happen only in a 4 years long segments?
They should host the olympics every single year imo.

You can consider yourself lucky, in France it's Football, Tennis and SOMETIMES Handball..
In America its 150% NFL for 5 months then 7 months of basketball/baseball just to waste the time as we wait for the NFL to come back...
The olympics are like soccer and the world cup. Everything we just saw for the last 2 weeks will get absolutely 0 attention here till it pops up again in 4 years. Oh well.

Very possibly it's the sheer logistics of it, for just one example building an Olympic Park in a different country every year.
Rhythmic gymnastics is strangely alluring. I wonder why they wear those flesh-colored pantyhoses instead of going bare legged like their artistic gymnastic counterparts, though.
Was a great event to follow. The swedish channel that covered it was the bomb really 10/10. Tons of content all day with great commentary. It's great to watch some sports that you only watch every 4th year but I'm gonna try to get into table tennis after this. It was really entertaining to follow the female players at least, lots of great rallies and emotions.
The games have been so amazing that I sort of hope the closing ceremony has less of the weirdness from the opening one. The fact that the Spice Girls are there doesn't bode well.
On the other hand it would be funny to see these two weeks of incredible competition brought to a close by another bizarre dance pantomime thing. Just a reminder that, hey, this is still Britain.

According to American media the USA came top in Beijing.
