I really wanted QG to make it to worlds but alas patch changes and whatnot. Not necessarily saying QG would perform better than LGD/iG but I'd have liked to see some new faces on the world stage.

LGD are new faces atm
Not in the chinese scene. Weiless/PYL/TBQ have been around. Imp and Acorn are veterans at this point. I had 0 idea who any of the players on QG were outside of Swift until this season.
Well QG's support is Mor and V/TnT have been hyped names in the LSPL for years now. Doinb idk but I suppose QG are new names for people that aren't hipster/masochistic enough to regularly follow LSPL.

TnT has been playing under various names in LPL since S3, he was the Livemore and LMQ ADC before they went to NA. And TcT is LMQ Mor.
Here come the excuses from LGD manager today on twitter.
Like come on the guy isn't good in domestic leagues it's not like we expect him to be any good here, it's pretty obvious LGD can't play macro game for shit right now and their coordination was not good at any point. IG look rough but they seem more salvageable and could maybe make a come back, I think it's enough of the Chinese apologist and just accept that maybe the region was way overrated. Not being prepared for Bo1s is fucking hilarious when you play 40+ games a season.
As for EDG like.... they beat BKT and H2K. Ok?
Fnatic will make it out of their group, not like anyone in it outside of C9 will challenge them.

I think just in general we're going to see a shift in professionalism in the west that's going to unfortunately leave Korea a little behind.
I'm of course favouring CLG over C9, because I have been working with them.
This guy was also saying that Faker is spamming Syndra combo while going back to lane to not waste any time.
Who is this? And neither of those statements are completely without merit.
Esport Performance Trainer according to his twitter. He is sport psychologist (?) that worked for CW and now is working for CLG I think. First time I saw him on First Blood when he was talking about CW and this Faker bullshit.
Well CLG hasn't looked good in the weakest group at worlds so feels kind of weird to say they going to win worlds now that we seen them disappoint all the hype around them. C9 looks like the better team currently.
Welp I would not be surprised to see fnatic and iG do a full sweep (ofc only one can 3-0). Group B any one could qualify, hopefully AHQ, iG and fnatic make up for the disappointing showing with better play and better games for the viewers.
EDG looked good, but maybe I think that because I'm still amazed by their 12k gold deficit teamfight vs SKT :o.
I would not be too worried for CLG qualifying but I can see KOO beating them up again, going 5-1 in the process.
I expected OG to qualify with LGD, I hope that LGD puts up a good showing and that OG qualifies (KT qualifying would be cool too).
EDG blind picked both solo laners vs SK T and had 0 wave clear. They're probably only team that is sandbagging at this tournament. Also fuck AmazingJ, bring Koro1 back.

I agree with most/much of what was said in the video (although most of it was basic cultural stuff), but there is some great leap in logic when he moves from a long term relative weakness into short term performance. Also, even if there would be evidence that western teams will structurally outperform eastern teams from now on, he doesn't reason why clg becomes champion above any other western team. So the prediction itself is kind of empty.

To me, that's crystal clear : EDG knows they'll win EZPZ against H2K and BKT. They don't need to win against SKT, not even to try.
So they'll just go the easy way, take that 2nd spot and not show anything about their current strong tactics and/or picks.
Then, maybe in quarter, they'll actually reveal something.
As for now, the objective is just to go out of the group. They can do that really easily while keeping their secret stuff hidden. So, they just do that.
EDIT : I actually am quite with you on the bring back Koro

Isn't EDG's coach supposed to be some kind of genius, the ultimate mastermind of LoL ? If so then why are people doubting the decision to bench Koro, I'm sure he had his say in it.
