But anyway, it should have been higher placing between SKT T1 and TSM, considering that TSM are his main favourites.

Hell, ban my account 1 month if they make the finals. Pretty unlikely for them to place higher than 3rd in groupstage.

I'm looking forwards to EDG vs SKT - I'm really interested to see how the laners match up. The level of competition in Korea has definitely decreased, but by how much? And which local teamfighting style will come out on top?

It's easy to say that certain players look good in the competitive region they play, but it means nothing when the level of their competition isn't high. It's not high compared to what? No region is as competitive as Korea last year, but how competitive the regions are now isn't really that clear.

Let's be real, Korea isn't anywhere near as good as it was last year. CJ Frost with Ambition role swapping into jungle finished 3rd. Najin Sword + Smeb/Gorilla finished 2nd. SKTS + Tom finished 1st. For reference, none of these base teams finished higher than 4th(SKTS) in Summer 2014. Korea isn't "Korea."
