The new carries are obvious improvements over the old ones in their willingness to make plays and not just settle for mediocrity. Mind you, I personally believe the main change was Korean competitiveness, and that had GE made it to the finals, they'd have also been exposed by TSM. I don't believe Bjergsen is going to lose to Xiye the way Kuro lost two games in a row, for example. The Korean decline is pretty obvious when you look at the performance of CJ and GE. They were not complete trash but they were the last place out of 12 teams competing in the same league. And if you are trying to argue that they suddenly got a lot better swapping 2 players playing their first matches on international stage, you got another thing coming. And no. I will bet on GE against TSM any day of the week. Azarkon you are being too predictable these days and sound very desperate/pathetic as well.

After S4, Korea lost the bulk of its tier 1 players to the exodus. On top of that, and invisible to the casual viewer, they've also lost a large chunk of their up and coming players - go check out the teams in LSPL, and you'll see that the top LSPL teams virtually all have "new Korean talent" that you haven't heard about because there is virtually no coverage of LSPL. Further, not only did 8/12 Chinese LPL teams recruit 2 Korean starters per team, but a few of these teams also recruited Korean subs. For example, LGD owns both Flame and Acorn. WE owns both Ninja and Mystic. With such a huge amount of talent - amounting to ~30 players by a few counts - leaving, it was bound to have a catastrophic effect on Korea's ability to keep itself competitive. That a team on the caliber of GE was able to be formed from the remnants, and was able to out perform all up to WE in IEM, is already a testament to just how large the gap was. But there are limits to what you're able to do with a handful of first-tier talent sprinkled among second-tier talent, and IEM proved it.

China did, but China figured out the loophole of making phony organizations to "sponsor" their 2nd teams. Apparently no one anywhere else figured that one out.

Even when they were, they didn't have an A-team/B-team relationship.
