Hard to say what position the current WE would be in had they had this roster from the beginning. Interested to see if they come back and skyrocket to the top, or if they stay at the bottom

I think more than anything this win speaks to how truly chuuper like Ninja was

Right. And if TSM beats WE then NA>China>Korea?

Actaully NA is already better than Korea since both Korean teams didnt reach finals while an NA team did.

this isn't purely a reaction to this series, you can see me make the same comment weeks ago in the Summoning insight thread, or in the IEM championship announcement thread

like just take this logic

Pray, not good enough to be in champions
Space, lol space prison

Imp, Deft and Piglet(not so good anymore but at the time he was the other good player) leave.

Pray and Space, good top adcs???

just sounds like the league got worse to me.

like every role in champions you have previous shitters stepping up, something that is pretty unlikely, much more likely the level of competition is lower

No. Because WE is still the worst LPL team so far and TSM is the best NA team. TSM wins doesn't prove anything.

Oh god I even think you took my post serious. Honestly I think the League community is a hopeless case when it comes to all these hyperbolic interpretations of single games.

can somebody explain how did riot kill korean lol ?

Their new rules about no 2 teams. It caused samsung to kill themselves and had ripple effect throughout all the other teams and caused the mass exodus of koreans leaving for china. Riot was tired of seeing the koreans dominate and this was their solution to weaken them! They cut korea out from their knees by forcing changes on them when they were doing things 1 way since the inception of lol in korea.

Each org is only allowed 1 team from the 2015 season onwards. The whole infrastructure of Korea is based on org having at least 2 sister teams to scrim, train and discuss, basically do everything together. So talents have to be benched or flee.

I am loving this. After all this talk about how the GE games are a foregone conclusion that took all the tension out of the tournament. In no team sport results are guarenteed, why should that be the case in League?

And people always overrate single games soooo much and draw the most insane conclusions from them. Already curious how much serious China>>>Korea talk there will be.

All that is missing then is TSM to beat WE. :D
Would be so funny to watch people being confused and unable to align that with their world view.

WE was the worst LPL team with Ninja and Styz. The new WE is a different team, and has replaced its previously lackluster carries.

lol, no. WE is still trash.

I'm not sure that being allowed sister teams would have stopped the exodus of the (top-level) talent, at the very least..

The sister team thing is pretty huge imo. Having a team of a similar level to yourself that you can practice with constantly (as well as theorycraft?) or use as stand in's if you want to practice something specific is pretty huge.

If anything, Riot spelling out the "two non-residents" rule actually legitimized the practice of importing players (when it was intended to curtail it), when previously it was kind of a thing only teams that were desperate to fill out their rosters did.

Nah, with the money China was offering Korean players plus not controlling every part of their lives, talent flight was inevitable.

No, players left Korea because they were offered good money as opposed to the KESPA teams fucking them. Simple as that.

Possibly, but the riot changes definitely hastened it and now korea is a shell of its former selves. It's just sad to see now.
