They're gonna do the same thing for IEM Singapore next week and I see no point to it.
For IEM Singapore it's even sillier because there's a qualifier that determines some of the teams that go to the pro tourney and amateur tourney. So for example team X can beat team Y in the qualifier then finish last at Pro, while team Y can go on and win at Amateur and earn 4 times as much as the team that's better than them. What the hell kind of system is this? It is the consequential continuation of what Riot is doing all year. And yes it sucks big time. Still this tournament is not bad. Now we had the exhibition matches against the smaller region teams and tomorrow the real tournament begins. The separation does kinda suck I'd absolutely love to see copenhagen wolves against fnatic/C9/CLG/GMB.I honestly think that they'd be up for it. They probably wouldn't win but I'm sure it'd make for a good match. There was a time, like before worlds, when you could hear from several EU pros that they believed CW is the strongest team in EU. But this is only one of many issues I have with the current system. Dont even want to think about it too much, it is just too annoying.

quite excited to see c9 vs gambit for the shitstorm that will ensue (on other sites).

In all honesty, Turquality outside of an NA quality throw or two did better than I expected, and maybe, just maybe this CLG lineup will live up to their POTENTIAL.

I thought TQL played quite well, considering they are a new team (at least I never heard of them).
Game 1 is pretty entertaining thus far.
edit: Wow that throw during Dragon rofl. Ok that w as bad/dumb by TQL.

I thought Trick did well. He died once between the two games (I think?)
Link so kawaii playing moemoeziggs

I still think they are going to beat Fnatic, not because they are better but simply because unlike Fnatic they prepared and practiced hard for this.
Gambit i can see doing the same vs C9.
Would be a fun finals.

I would be over the moon if they beat Fnatic but they are no chance to win. Fnatic are infinitely stronger in top/jungle/mid and arguably better bot.
edit - C9 vs Gambit will be close though.

Fnatic never impressed me all that much in terms of their individual laning skills, and for me personally, they seemed to thrive more on smart skirmishing, good team communication and overall team synergy that probably depends more on thorough scheduled practice than their absolute individual gaming capacities.
I don't think it's as one sided as one might expect given the circumstances.

I think you are under estimating CLG. I agree that Fnatic is a stronger team, but not "infinitely stronger." I think the difference in practice can be enough for CLG to pull off this win. Especially since its only a single BO3, where anything can happen.
That being said, I think Fnatic is still the favorite going in, but I'd put them at 60-40 maximum.

Fnatic's lane phase isn't the lynchpin of their victories: their ability to teamfight, skirmish, and strategically pick off enemy team members in the midgame is where they shine.
Nien vs. Soaz is the only lane where I'd be concerned about CLG losing the lane (Nien makes derp laning decisions on occasion): I expect Link and...alright, Rush Hour, to either go even or win the lane.
Also, it's MURICA FK YEAH. Not that wimpy america!
