I'd be ok with introducing a 4th ban for each team, as the champion pool is starting to get to a point where 3 bans just aren't enough. What was it originally, like 3 bans for ~70 champs, and now they expect us to have 3 bans per team for 117 champs? It's just not enough.

They could increase number of bans by removing kassadin from the game

If you want to balance Kassadin, make his R be a CD of 20/16/12, problem solved.

I don't play or watch Dota 2, so I don't know too much about their pick/ban phase.

And Faker got MVP again, I think PoohManDu got robbed.

Dota 2 does it:
BAN -> BAN -> BAN -> BAN -> PICK -> PICK+PICK -> PICK -> BAN -> BAN -> BAN -> BAN -> PICK -> PICK -> PICK -> PICK -> BAN -> BAN -> PICK -> PICK

Dota 2 also has way more OP/viable champions in general

In terms of the percentage of the roster that's played, Dota 2 has a larger percentage, but not by much. Picks are also very similar to League in that there's a stable "core" of heroes that are always played and you get a few odd picks here and there.

Either way, Riot needs to look into at least just upping bans. Their stated reason of "not wanting to see players' signature champs always banned out" is a bad reason considering that already happens now on occasion, plus there are ways to structure pick/ban to not allow that to happen.

I've said this before, but complicating the pick/ban phase just means more emphasis on pick/ban phase. Imo there should be as little outdrafting as possible and the team that plays better should win.

To be fair, faker got put into a 1v2 lane and came out with like the highest cs in the game.

As Slusher said SKT is just sooo well balanced to really call a MVP and since Faker has the biggest fanbase and still SKT K's most famous player although most people have realized that the whole team is so friggin good, he will probably always get it unless he starts to underperform dramatically.

From what I know MVP's use the money to buy a huge delicious meal for their team anyway.

Honestly, the only thing that can possibly beat SKT at this point is a completely revolutionary playstyle/meta which needs to get enough of a lead in the first ten minutes that they can snowball it to victory AND be playing a low game count series since SKT's adaptive playstyle pretty handily shuts down anything new over the course of a longer series.

The problem with this is taht it leads to a stale champion roster being played. Imagine if there were no bans, which would basically be the ideal scenario for your preference. Teams would only ever pick the best champions available because that's what gives the most consistency. Whereas if drafting is a bigger deal, teams can actually out-strategize their opponents, allow niche champions/comps to be played by banning out key counters.

Besides, at the very top level, teams don't straight up lose due to getting out picked that often. It happens, but it's not like in BW where you can literally lose a game in the first 5 minutes due to a build order loss.

By the way I find it really annoying that the only Korean team with IEM circuit points is Frost. Since IEM WC is the only real international tournament we're gonna get for the next half a year I wish it was more stacked

even though im a huge piglet and therefore an skt fan, it's not as if they'll be dominant forever. In esports, the only constant is that teams fall off and challengers arise.

I agree, but Faker is also soaking up 3 bans every game, which can't be ignored.

the amount of training time they put into improving their play is pretty sick. absolutely well oiled machine with the creative flair to make plays too.

they are all still pretty young, 18 18 17 19 21 i think. with their motivation high and the coaching staff to back it up, i don't see them falling off for a long time. eventually yea but not anytime soon

It's arguable that Ozone aren't even in the top six teams in Korea. The top three would go T1K, KTB and Blaze in that order, and then it's entirely possible that Blue and Sword are a bit ahead of Ozone at the moment.

I thought it was a poor decision by Ozone to keep targeting Faker's champion pool; he has probably the deepest pool of champs of any player in the world, so you're kind of just wasting bans on him. But then I thought Ozone's decision making was fairly poor throughout all of the games. They don't seem to be at 100% synergy right now and that was brutally exposed by T1K.

So who can stop this juggernaut? KTB have always had the raw talent but they always seem to do dumb things during games, which you can't do against the T1K machine. Blaze are looking really good right now but they still have a lot of improving to do. Sword are a bit like Alliance - fantastic players held back by awful shotcalling, and I think the jury is still out on Blue. Maybe a Chinese team could stand against them, although it sounds like their entire region is in a state of anarchy or something right now.

If sword was better than ozone they would have won against ozone
10/10 logic

Anyway, were they games good or too much of a stomp?

3 easy stomps.

Oh yeah it's almost unfortunate that OGN couldn't book a bigger venue that was fitting for the winter in the short time, but I actually enjoyed this venue a lot.
