Stream is now on, first match is Roughnex academy (I have no idea) vs karont3 (Some may remember them as home to the brothers duran in SC2, they have jimbz, tremnek and dragon)

Afaik the aAa's roster disbanded, copenhagen pups and TCM are already in the promotion tournament due to their wins at gamescom and tenerife respectively. My predictions to get through are supa hot crew (Svenskeren, freddy122, migxa and two other guys) and h2k (ex-anexis with vandernoob)
Econatorz @Econatorz 1m Hemos sido descalificados... Otra vez será
Their jungler, through my shitty Spanish learnt during school and google translate it roughly comes out of "We've been disqualified, maybe another time" http://spq.wellplayed.org/eu1/schedule Schedule of the tournament.

First round is BO1 then group stages then two best of threes between group winners/ runners up.
Excited to see supa hot crew, freddy122, svenskeren, moopz and migxa are pretty solid idk about foton though but if those 4 want him he can't be that bad.
On October 20 2013 00:44 Headshot wrote: Can someone explain how these qualifiers work? Do the top two go on to play the regulated LCS teams?
Similar to last split, two qualifiers. Top two of each one join TCM and copenhagen pups. They get matched up and the three winners play the LCS teams (Which is chosen by seed, nip picks a team, SK picks a team then MYM gets the last one)
Why do they need this stupid fuckin overlay? The observer got bans wrong, portraits are greyed out wrongly, the timer is wrong or not on the right team...

Its unsurprising that the NA scene is full of reshuffle and circlejerk of used talent since the infrastructure really isn't there for anyone to take it seriously. Hopefully Coke Zero can help change that

An EU team (Karont3) was also disqualified for being late, I wouldn't say this is an NA problem in particular
Leaguepedia guys didnt even care to look for Karont3 logo, but since they were disqualified it doesnt matter all that much, the irony of amateur tournament with teams not giving a shit

I like how they're one of the few amateur teams to have an actual sponsor in karont3 so they're the ones that don't show up.
Jesus christ this qualifier is a trainwreck, have we had a full match today? It sucks as well because while most teams are a meh bunch of yolo queue guys who aren't gonna go anywhere millenium are one of the few legit teams. Especially dioud, he's a legit LCS level support.

Was this a rule before ? or is this a thing put in because it's Millenium ?
I have no idea, Bjoran ( Millenium LoL manager ) told that on MilleniumTV. It's maybe because Millenium played one hour before the official schedule.
Fair enough, not that i would wish them to be DQ'd over this though it's a bit silly by Fresh to still have no protection vs DDOS.
And come on for F sake this is just stupid on stream. Can't believe i am so desperate for games i stick up with this, in the end i can only blame myself for this suffering.

We got through EU LCS, we'll get through this. I think heroes team frequently trades games with MYM and h2k so I suppose they're heavily favored here.

It shames me to say i don't know either of these teams. 2 Assassin mids though haha intresting.
And your right EU LCS made my hair fall out, good thing it was so frustrating there's nothing left anymore.
Wut, when did kikis switch to jungle I remember him as mouz's top laner. Can't say it's working. Well this match is certainly amusing to say the least.

Even without protection vs DDOS, there's plenty of pause time to go to a friend or internet cafe since the match is so important for Millenium. You have to live in the middle of nowhere to not be able to find a different internet connection within 30mins.
Edit: Wait, I'm dumb. This is on the tournament realm so he can't do that in time unless he played from a laptop in the first place.

He has not enough time to download the tournament server.
If I was a Millenium fan I would be mad as well. The admins didnt have to DQ them, they only had the option to do so. Now I dont now the details but it sounds like Millenium could have resolved the issue if they were given a little more time and their game would have been played after the other one. But with the decision the admins took they made this the best day in the life of the DDOS kid.

Currently ImSoFresh was able to play because he moved his computer to another place. Anyway, Millenium is DQ and they had to try hard for the second qualifier.
Quantic rolled Soul Control (Azingy's team) pretty easily in the first round - nothing too surprising, but I really think Quantic (along with Complexity) has a good shot at qualifying for the LCS

If they both make it into the up and down games 1 of these 2 would have to beat Coast though. And in all the amateur tournaments I have seen so far Coast has looked better than those 2.

Why are you so sure that Coast won't pick TBD?
I guess better phrasing would have been - why are you so sure Quantic won't be picked first in this scenario? They're good but I'm not fully convinced yet that they're definitely better than TBD. But we should see them play eachother in NESL Pro Series fairly soon.

Coast has the 2nd pick. There are 3 teams to be picked, so for Coast not to play vs either col or Quantic (if both are in) CLG would have to pick one of them. So if both are in one has to beat either Coast or CLG.

It's Curse instead of CLG and imo Curse is much easier to beat than Coast at the moment. Anyway I'm pretty excited about the up & downs, maybe even more so for NA given all these challenger tournaments that they've had lately while EU doesn't even run the EUWCS anymore.

Yeah little mixup there. :D
Pretty sad how EU challenger scene has basically stopped existing, while there are so many NA challenger tournaments now.
1. H2k-Gaming 3-0 2. Heroes Team 2-1 3. SUPA HOT CREW XD 1-2
(Roughnex academy forfeited)
So H2K and Heroes Team will play off against the #1 and #2 seed of Group B (to be played tommorow) for a spot in the promotion tournament.
In 1 hour Group A of the NA qualifier will be played featuring:
1. Napkins in Disguise 2. Gold Gaming LA 3. COGnitive Gaming 4. 1UP Gaming
I think NiD annd CoG get through here, though I would like ggLA to produce a good performance, though watching them lately, that doesn't seem probable.
Seems like the European side has been a DDOS for all, but the NA side hasn't had the same problem. Strange. RIOT's going to have to act on this, they can't let their qualifier for their big tournament become a joke..

I dont know much about this stuff, but might be because France and some other countries have static IPs.
SuNo is like one of those hyped sports prospects that gives you flashes of his potential, but then the other 93% of the time they remind you that they aren't panning out the way they were hyped.
Curse Academy with their patented AD carry less comp playing Qunatic tough
Edit: Apple is a god on Shen, his taunts are just amazing
cursed academy proving that the nidalee team can indeed fall behind in turrets. geez let's not get an adc to right click turrets when nidalee zones them off
really confusing game. quantic ran a pick comp but kept getting and losing teamfights against a team that has a bunch of wombo combos and then a random nidalee
On October 28 2013 08:02 Redox wrote: Good luck getting nto LCS when you cant even beat Curse Acedemy. Though to be fair Quantic also had much better games.
The individual talent on Quantic is there. Apple hits amazing taunts on Shen. Prime and SuNo have good co-ordination. Locodoco is a strong laner (and a meh teamfighter) and Gunza is a really good support capable of big plays.
Yet they never seem to put it all together at once. Their teamfight coordination is there...sometimes. There is certainly something missing and it might well be a shotcaller, since that was the role that Woong likely had before he left.
They do so much right, but make some awful decisions, it reminds me of Curse or Dignitas the way they could look perfectly fine and then the wheels would fall off.
I still am not sure why Wombat isn't a Riot caster. His casting since the Weekly TSM tourneys has always been fantastic (Wombat/Kobe da best). I know they poached Kobe, but Wombat is hilarious.
Personally I dont think he is that good. Good general casting, but knowledge is somewhat lacking. And I feel like keeps his tone too much when there is shit going down and only tells us afterwards what we have just seen.

I like Wombat a lot, but he doesn't fit into the 'Professional' style cast that RIOT seems to prefer. Wombat is like a baseball play by play guy, lots of great anectdotes, entertaining, but RIOT prefers the Play-by-play guys to be 'hype' men like Rivington and Deman who are basically there to make every game feel like its the biggest one ever!111!!!
Yea I read that also, I'm looking for evidence of it being anywhere near reality.
the one win I've seen in the 4 games I've watched of them playing it took a tremendous throw.
I should clarify I think it's possible in some match ups the no ad style is good, I'm actally hoping for them to prove it but the evidence so far says it does not.
curse has no tankiness and they're just now getting blades and other crap that isn't going to help. The decision making in terms of items is really poor and being exploited by NiD right now
Honestly letting NiD getting gragas was a poor choice and I think the biggest downfall. Bruiser comp seems all about taking the fight when you want to and that cant happen with a Gragas to force or disengage fights. I just dont see how Curse's comp had any chance of taking a 5 on 5 teamfight
On November 03 2013 07:52 Fusilero wrote: Welp the superiority of no AD comps wasn't proven today.
They've had some good results with it, beating Complexity and some other decent teams. However it's not without weaknesses (like we just saw)
well my personal (I watched the game live) for the strat is now 1 in 5, so add the complexity win, which I didn't see, and you have 2 in 6, I'm just not seeing what makes it so good, the one win I personally watched they had no buisness being in the game but NiD went full Cy Young award winner to help them take the game.
to take it a step further lets look at the last game,
why 2v1 for your only ranged champion, one with good wave clear, who perhaps needs the least help to farm in the game? 2v1 mid is actually really bad at developing CS leads especially vs a wave clear like gragas, it's really only good for map control and invades, something they did early but didn't follow up on at all.
why pick Jarvan as your jungle with 2 melee cores, Making his ult a 50/50 for helping/hurting your team.
Again Thresh support on paper looks interesting, The box alone looks tempting, but I just don't think he helps a mass melee team as much as something like Janna or Nami.
I think it can work but I'm not impressed with what I've seen from Crs so far.

Don't think there's time to. From the sound of it, another qualifier is happening in a couple weeks after this one and Riot takes a pretty big break around the Christmas time.
