Don't lump in fans with the actual team, C9 has never shown to make excuses for losses afaik.
Plus how is it "disgusting" when EU has just as many fans constantly jerking w/e EU team happens to look good at the moment and predicting that Fnatic will easily crush C9? There are plenty of fan boys for EVERY region, the majority are more level headed. So I don't see why NA is the only region where its fans constantly get called out for no reason.
Crowd warning tsm for ganks, cheering for ward kills and that one guy screaming ALEX!! Im pretty sure in korea/china/europe it will never happend.

Pls enlighten me Cheers
These teams placed first in their respective regional finals and so got a bye to the quarters. It's a bit of a silly system.

vulcun vs anything lol. their first game vs sso
I disagree, people seem to think Vulcan was winning because Dade got crushed but in reality top was a lost cause and Zuna was getting his asshole rheemed out by Imp
yea it wasn't a big lead that they gave away, but still they lost their chance to win the game with one stupid fight. snatching certain defeat from the jaws of mebbe victory?

Thanks. That indeed does sound like a silly system.
I may be in minority here, but I think Riot's way of doing things is the right way. Putting more emphasis on NA and EU is the way to go in promoting esports. Making LoL "region locked" breeds local talent. I am sorry, but I don't want korean domination in LoL like it it right now in SC2. LCS Europe is actually LCS Europe, unlike WCS Europe which is "mostly europeans, but with a korean winning". And WCS NA ..... well..... that is a joke.
For esports to grow, there must be a balance between best players in the world and local heroes. SC2 has become about best players (koreans) going all over the world and winning everything, and LoL is more about local personalities and region lock. The only bad thing is that with LCS there is no room for international tournies.
I think if during the year there are more international tournaments (2-4 per year), but the LCS keeps the actual region lock, then I think LoL will achieve that perfect balance.

Which is in line with the opinion here I believe. What they are doing now is not that and even with the sole international event they intentionally make it a format that is just terrible. Riot has schizophrenia. They don't know what they want so they just do a bit of everything.

I think fnatic has the better players, but c9 has a better teamfight power.
Meh now I hope Royal wins and get to show more than 2 games in Worlds.... No double elimination in playoffs is soooo shit
Hopefully in Season 4 they will get some more games going in playoffs rather than groups. Each team playing oneanother once is more than enough to see, and if need be, tiebreakers. 20games ~~ Or better yet, have all teams go through Groups and nr1 get BYE into the next round. And get more rounds, like RO16.
If Royal doesn't advance, I'm ragequitting Worlds.

The stupid thing is that people have raised these issues about Worlds for MONTHS--since we knew about the #1 seeds from the top 4 regions at all-stars getting direct byes to Ro8.
Riot just chose not to listen to anyone and keep their terrible format.

Come on yango, if Royal doesn't advance, that's not Riot's fault, that's Royal's fault for losing to OMG. You can't blame Riot for your favorite team losing.
Who says I'm blaming Riot? If they don't advance I'll have just lost most of my interest in watching Worlds in the first place.
Plus it is Riot's fault for pairing them with a team that I already know how they stack up against. It isn't showing me anything I didn't already know as opposed to getting a matchup where even if they lose I still learn something about how they stack up against foreign teams.
If Royal is going to be out of the event in 2 games, it matters that those 2 games are against a fresh opponent as opposed to a team I've seen them win and lose against many times already over the LPL season.
Basically if Royal loses, every Chinese fan got robbed of the chance to see how they do against non-Chinese teams.

Sure there's a huge culture difference in live events, however your orig. comment sounded like it was referring to TL. And even with live events, I have this impression of EU sports fans...

Mh, I'm not sure if making a rule that teams from the same region can't face each other in the semis would be smart, though. You'd have a high possibility of having two teams from the same region in the Finals then, which would also be somewhat lame, wouldn't it?
Obviously this means that you need a format where the seeded teams actually get to play games before the bracket stage.
People were already raising this issue after all-stars. There were multiple solutions raised, some of which included having the 4 seeded teams play a round robin for Ro8 drawing order or for the initial groups to be determined by an MSL-style group draw and have the seeded teams participate in groups with their advantage being priority selection in the group draw. Riot just decided to plug their ears and not do anything about it.
