I agree lol, LoL forums real terror.
Overall, I just think this was a really dumb decision by both teams. Not much to say, looks pretty crystal clear and definitely the right decision by MLG and Riot.

With millions and millions of dollars on the line in season 2 and 3....I am very very skeptical about the "integrity" of future LoL matches.
It's a possibility that Savior and other players have shown before. Honestly the players have to keep the spirit of the competition on their minds and do the right thing, but before Season 3 even starts we have this stupid mess. The fact it even happened is now up to MLG/Riot to decide if they need to set an example for their future. It's just something stupid they've done and I frankly won't follow Dig/Curse in their future tournaments, because they gave up their chance at first place and didn't show their spirit to win legitimately
It's not only eSports. There was the big scandal involving pro tennis a couple of years ago too. Collusion and match fixing can happen almost anywhere. The only thing you can hope to do is have harsh enough penalties to dissuade people from doing it and instill enough pride in the competitors to always give it their best.
edit: Also, that thread on the LoL forums that was linked is the dumbest shit I've ever read. Holy fuck, now I know why people think elo hell exists.

It could be messier if Riot chooses to reprimand Dig/Crs further.

Im pretty sure that's where the irony come's in :D
Also it was pretty clear they had already discussed about this sometime back, although im guessing it was after 7 hours ago that they even knew who was in the finals, cant say as I only watched the finals.

Yeah, they could receive S2 disqualifications. I can't say that I'd disagree with the decision behind it although it'd be a real shame to see the NA scene send a weaker third team if Dig/Crs were absent.

Circuit Points will not be awarded for 1st and 2nd place Only 3rd and onwards.
Prize Money however will be split between 3rd-8th place though.
Also, RiotRedBeard, VP for ESports at Riot has confirmed both teams have admitted to collusion. End of story.

There is no way the penalties MLG handed were enough.

It's an admission.

I think that sums it up. It's competitive eSports - if you're just going to split the money, there's no competition. It'd be like if football teams split their points up so everyone had the same at the end of the season.

The 3rd and 4th Place teams will receive the prize money and Circuit Points they have earned, and all other results stand. No 1st or 2nd Place will be awarded for this event. http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/news/an-important-message-regarding-mlg-summer-championship-league-of-legends/If oRb gets 2nd place circuit points mMe shouldn't be going to regionals and oRb might even become the 7th seed? I think it means that the 3rd and 4th place teams will still receive points for 3rd and 4th. ("no 1st or 2nd place will be awarded") So Curse and Dig just won't get any points, everything else stays the same. I dunno how that would affect the standings, though.
I don't know what they can do with the "winnings" for 1st and 2nd place. There are really specific laws when it comes to cash prizes and what needs to happen if someone is disqualified. MLG might need to talk to a lawyer or two before they can decide exactly what they are willing to do.

Do you think 0$, no points, and the public shaming wont be bad? Do you think their managers wont absolutely tear into their assholes for making them look like shit and embarrassing their sponsors? I personally would have no problem with further punishments that could include either a % of purse being taken if they place at nationals or complete removal from nationals. It would weaken the tournament, but would send a huuuuge message.

From what I understood they apologized for making a joke out of MLG by playing an ARAM. Could just be me though but it feels like they're dancing around the allegations for now.
@CrsNjyacky Sorry about the first game with ARAM,we were just stupid and try to have a troll-fun game...Sorry MLG,Riot and all our fans..T n T

To be completely fair though, this was like the least important tournament ever. The two best NA teams didn't even bother coming.
Doesn't excuse their actions but this tournament's only purpose was for the lower tiered NA teams to place for regionals.

They admitted to doing it in the video. They said "it was really stupid and people should expect better from us". End of story. They got caught and know it.

If riot banned an Elohell member from playing in a tournament because he got tribunal banned, they are going to unleash a shit storm at Dig and Crs for this incident. If Riot does not, I can't see how I can take any tournament that Dig and Crs is participating in seriously anymore.
