Good start- a few things you need to add-
A section with bans and picks from each game.
It would also probably be a good idea to post the rosters for each team as well.

Thanks very much for making this thread and being excited for our first Killing Spree! It's awesome to see fan involvement of this level already for our League of Legends content!
One slight correction is that our YouTube channel for LoL content is actually a brand new one: http://www.youtube.com/IPLLoL and that is where our Killing Spree VODs will end up! Thanks!
|
So pumped for this! Go Goose!
|
I'm not sure if they're going to switch things for this tournament, but Goose has been running a different lineup in scrims recently.
Balis top, mandatorycloud ap, atlanta AD, CurToKy support, Xmithie jungle.
|
you should probably explain the rules about 13 times, as we saw on sotl last night the players seem to struggle understanding how king of the hill works so i assume its difficult to understand.

Wait, what is this CLG TeddyRO thing? Is that actually TeddyRO or is that just a troll name for the tourney server?

It's Chauster, CLG has their normal team.

love the sending of vayne/sona top to mess with tryn at the start

Lee Sin sees Shaco swinging around golem to gank bottom from the back. Ryze and Lee Sin go in to countergank and a one for one trade occurs with ChoGath and Jarvan dying.
|
Lanes back to their original positions. Goose tried to switch tryng bot to lane against Hotshot's Cho, but CLG switched, and then Goose attempted to switch, and CLG switched back to the original lane comps. Hotshot dies to an Atlanta shaco gank bot, but Jarvan dies to the countergank from Jiji and Saint.
EDIT:Shen'd
|
10:41 CLG constantly switches lanes. Drag was taken at 6~ min by CLG. Score 2-1.
Vayne 83 CS at highest, next Swain with 80
SO MUCH SHEN
12:10 Engagement at bush below bot, Ryze + Lee (CLG) die for Swain, tower falls bot.
|
Well, casters not necessarily the most knowledgeable. Not exactly sure when tryndamere got more sustain than cho'gath :S
|
Lee Sin attempts to gank middle, but shaco turns it around. CLG loses leesin and Ryze for swain and then take a dragon with CLG's lack of map presense.
Gold very even now basically. Both sides have one dragon and one tower up for Goose.
|
Doublelift works trynd, nearly kills swain.
EDIT: Jiji's Ryze dies to a three man ganks in mid, Hotshot dies trying to nom Leona's oracle.
|
Ryze and Lee die in jungle after Ryze gets donated blue.
Then Cho gets dived, killed in jungle. Sona gets kill, but also dies.
4 for 1 exchange. 17:27 9-7 score Goose
|
On January 13 2012 10:31 kepael wrote: Doublelift works trynd, nearly kills swain.
That doesn't give that fight justice, but so much is going on ^_^
LeeSin and Vayne dove tryn top and then epicness happened with Jarvan ulting after leesin hopping to a ward over a wall. Definitely need to watch this fight!
Then Goose invaded into CLG's jungle as blue went to take blue and killed him and LeeSin and pushed mid tower. However, they decided to dive Chogath instead of finishing it off. Sona comes in and QUlts to finish off the diver, but dies shortly thereafter.
Don't let this fool you that Goose is ahead though, they're down nearly 2k gold.
|
CLG takes an uncontested dragon. Surpisringly they're up almost 2k gold, despite being down two kills.
EDIT: Shen'd again. This is why I'm bad at live reporting.
|
Goose loses bottom tower from Vayne pushing, but take top in response.
|
You actually posted that while I was editing :p Don't feel too bad.
Goose finishes off the nearly finished mid tower and are now at a one thousand gold deficit. Three towers versus one tower now.
|
Goose finally takes mid tower, giving them a 3-1 tower advantage.

Constructive criticism time: Can you please tell that yelling-happy caster to maybe tone it down? I mean I guess maybe in late game teamfights, but not every time someone dies x_x
Also, I guess a little more game knowledge... I cringed a few times, but I guess could be worse -.-
|
Fight for the next dragon starts. CLG lose Vayne, but take out three including a diving shaco who can't finish off the sona with 50 health.
|
Hotshot TPS in on a dragon fight . Swain falls instantly, Shaco dies, and Jarvan dies. CLG takes the fight 3-1 and gets an easy dragon, and mid tower.
|
Goose attempting baron. Swain falls. Saint steals baron. all of goose dies aside from trynd.
|
God. For all double gives you in terms of mechanical skill, he is fucking STUPID. The average 1500 elo player has better map and objective awareness than he does.
|
Goose goes for a baron with Vayne bottom, but CLG manages to steal it. Chogath feasted it I guess ^_^ (IPL has an action replay where Saint smited it)
Delayed ace with Tryn getting finished off by Ryze just as Leona respawns.
CLG up nearly 10k gold now. Things look grim for Goose in game one.

"Rupture does 1000 damage".

Don't give them too much flak for mixing the names up. It's not as big of deal as giving incorrect analysis. SC casters mix names up all the time.

I'm going to ask for people's input at the end of the thread, watch the games myself tonight, and submit ideas/improvements to Joshy/IPL tomorrow.

CLG push bottom and end up diving after Goose intiates on Vayne. However, CLG is too far ahead and dominate the third teamfight in a row.
CLG takes game 1.

I don't think their knowledge is a problem at all, they just seem fairly inexpeirnced at casting lol in the moment. Their analysis is spot on, but they're not really casting the fights in a way that explains things when they need to be explained.

Game 1 bans for Neo
Graves and kennen were the last two bans last game according to the casters.
Maokai Karthus Rammus Morgana Graves Kennen
(not sure order on last two)

TF ganks bottom after getting a fast red and forces a flash and heal on Corki.

TF ganks bot with red, forces corki's flash and sona'as heal, but TF burns all three pots in the by 3:30.

LeeSin barely survives a gank top and TF nearly dies to wraiths, but both live to fight another day.

Kennen dives leesin at the tower and kills him and escapes with his life barely.
|
Goose invades CLG's blue and trade one for two and refresh Kassadin's blue.
Gold very even. Goose up by ~500
|
Curtoky with some clutch Janna shields so far!
D'oh, tower-dive Ryze, GP ult and flash from Ryze gets them both killed >_<
|
OUTPLAYED LOL HAHA
Jiji dived by Kass + TF ults in; he lives and gets double kill
|
Goose dives middle, but Gangplank counter initiates with his ultimate and Kassadin and TF die with Ryze escaping with 50 hitpoints.
|
Well, atlanta is not building this properly. If your gonna play jungle tf, you need a wriggles.
|
CLG takes dragon uncontested. Ryze wanted to kill a fleeing TF, but his team was happy with dragon.
Goose takes the first tower at bottom which evens out the gold. CLG is up ~1000
|
A bunch of small skirmishes break out after a gank top with TF ulting to counter initiate (although accomplishing nothing). CLG dives him and picks off TF followed by Janna who ults to save Kassadin's blue buff. Ryze got caught at some point walking through the jungle to help in the fights.
|
Odd comments about Kennen's first item "not being that much AP... hope to see something like a deathcap next" when almost everyone builds WotA first on him.
Not complaining too hard, it's just best not to sound like you're criticizing a player when your game knowledge isn't absolutely solid yet.
|
Russian Federation4235 Posts
You don't gift Ryze two kills at level 8'ish and expect to win whatever comes out of that. Game pretty much over now.
|
TF and Graves get caught at mid river right before dragon spawns. Kassadin barely escapes yet again with minimal health and CLG will pick up this dragon uncontested.
CLG now up about 5k gold.
|
Goose losing all the small skirmishes - 3-1 top, then 2-0 mid/river after a gank on Sona turns sour.
Glass cannon Lee top can't survive an incredibly tanky Gangplank diving him with Sona support. 6/1/4 GP.
|
On January 13 2012 11:22 Ryalnos wrote: Odd comments about Kennen's first item "not being that much AP... hope to see something like a deathcap next" when almost everyone builds WotA first on him. Ya the casters general game knowledge is surprisingly decent, but individual champ/matchups is a bit lacking. I think in the future the casters should try to find the champs that are being played and do some research on builds/lane matchups before watching the games.
And this game is NOT representative of jungle tf. 20 minute razor is WAY too late.
|
Goose continues losing small skirmishes besides a failed Kennen gank where TF intervened to pick off Kennen after a nice chain of CCs. However, they lost four of their team right after due to overextending.
Now down 7k gold.
|
CLG now pushing towers down to further their lead. Things looking very grim for Goose.
|
CLG goes for baron. TF ults and sees them doing it and teleports behind baron, but there's no way they can contest. Janna loses oracles during the retreat.
CLG pushing down the middle for the Win inhib and then go take dragon.
Now up 12k gold and pushing down more towers.
|
YAY ARTOSIS: "when ahead, get more ahead" huehue
|
TF gets melted while CLG takes bottom inhib. CLG still not going for the nexus...
|
Goose surrender and CLG take the series 2-0.

So a few things about jungle TF-
Get a wriggles. He isnt as slow as the casters were making him sound because red card is actually a really good farming tool, but god, wriggles vs non wriggles, you WILL be behind.
But the ganks were good, and the replay they showed at the end showed that the fail gank mid was entirely kassadins fault- go forward, get rooted, dont use any abilities, die to tower shot.
|

Ok guys...
Likes/Dislikes?
Think of this from a production aspect, not simply just the casters. Though feedback for casters will help them.

When you're playing against CLG, it just feels like everything isn't viable because CLG is OP and needs to be nerfed.
Edit: I really like it. The stream didn't lag, the casters provided entertainment (I'm not looking for perfect knowledge I just want to be entertained) and the camera guy did a fairly good job of showing the important fights.
I would prefer more in depth commentary ala Day[9] style though. The casters were still fine, but I like to hear some commentary about team compositions, predictions as to what a team might pick/ban and why, and the thought process behind item builds.

Three notes about the casters:
1. This was their first cast together, so talking over each other and whatnot will get smoothed out over time. 2. The audio will be much better next week because we have swapped to Sennheiser broadcasting headsets with compression. 3. They are actually casting these games live. There is no real time to go do quick research about champion builds "before they watch the games," because they are using the 5 minute delay spectator client at the same time the games are being played. It is pre-recorded so that we can add things like the slow-mo instant replays and in the future, more production aspects.
Overall I hope everyone enjoyed the stream, and look for improvements from week to week.

CLG didn't outplay them that badly. The second game looked awful cause after that dive mid they gave Ryze blue back which they had just stolen throwing away their advantage. A couple bad plays later and they're completely out of the game. CLG generally doesn't let you come back and they are one of the best at working the end game. They know when they need to split push and how to stop it from happening to them. One of the best teams at closing out games besides being overcautious at the end of game 2, although I suspect they might have just been showing off. When you're up that much global gold it should be fairly obvious that you can just attack move to their nexus.
I'd like the casters to point out the cs differences and how far ahead certain lanes are during the cast. Like a 20 cs lead is significant and should be mentioned. They talked about the global gold every so often, but early game they never mentioned who was winning the lanes and how far ahead that side was. Other than some minor game knowledge mistakes they did pretty well I think. No doubt a lot better than a lot of the casters we've endured in the past, but they aren't pro players casting either.
|
Guest casters would be awesome, but we definately need that color commentator with him. lol. just some suggestions, maybe you guys can explain some basic things so it'll be more noob friendly? and also go over the teams situations/ game's current meta and stuff like that.
|
the casting wasnt horrible but it's just hard to take most casters serious if they arn't even a decent ELO, guest casters would be nice
|
Ya I mean to be fair to the casters, the TL regulars are the 1% when it comes to lol knowledge.
|
overall the casters seemed... bland? like they don't really add or detract from the game. the excitement was awkward, like when he got so loud over... tf getting low vs wraiths. They also seemed to get caught off guard when fights happened, not really giving play-by-plays or being able to analyze what happened.
The biggest thing for me was how they rarely linked anything back to how the overall game was going, so there was no anticipation or tension being conveyed. For example, I didn't even know vayne was farming well until they looked over her items and figured out she could finish PD to go with IE. All in all It felt like reading the scores and watching a 2 min highlight reel would've given me the same experience.
|
Vods pretty okay, short short match makes sense though 90% aggression for goose, 100% standard play for clg... clg plays a great defense and great team comps.
Notes abt the casters
Shoutcaster hatperson a bit too loud - balance mic levels with both (outshines redbaron a bit)// -- super loud at swain dbl kill (tone down that energy a little but it was great nonetheless). -He has Great energy though!- Knowledge is good between both, it's just getting used to casting and on play calls.. Rupture op!
Balance between casters They are a work in progress but they do work well for now Definitely would love to hear hat person's anlysis side, I know that you may have set roles for the casters but let him build creditablity as well. Let Hatperson try to input some more knowledge of his own and not be the on point man. (something rivingtonthe3rd has done a bit more during the latter stages of casting and that phreak is doing more on point calls ~ definitely seeing greater balance between both)
Stay confident in answers!! Afterwards with errors definitely say that you guys are learning and getting used to the pace so you mind becomes confluxed sometimes. Again rupture op >.<
-General note that I and new casters probably should look into- Learn about tendencies and stuff pros usually do to help give you more content. The more in tuned we are to them the more sucess grows into #esports and into League of Legends. (say poker you have your gus hansen's aggressive playstyle or your bitbybit.prime umm bit by bit style in sc2) *SC2-esque - artosis's deep analysis of build orders and such eventhough he isn't the best player anymore*
Example of this I noted on one cast (although it was Riot Rara playing the game): EG.NhatNguyen on solo/duo ranked games on purple side puts a ward early to late during laning phase near tri-brush and dragon but not at it.. to save money to get his gold item early and to see both tri bush and dragon area without having to waste 2 wards.
Having indepth analysis like that makes League more of a oh i know whats going on and I can follow it + its something to kill time.
Also having like a side interview after the match might be a cool idea.. have like a mvp of the game would be awesome and gets interviewed after the match! *just like in real sports (might not be the mvp but an impactful player works as well)
Just a few notes on what i saw off the vods, definitely hope for more success in the future IPL =) you guys are making Esports BIG!

Damn it i missed it all. Thank you for the OP. Watching Vods right now ... gl to IPL ... more league of legends is more good :-p
I dont understand. Why is the most recent Vid on your channel a game between goose and clg? I think i am watching the wrong vods. *confused* *admittedly drunk*

I liked the post match "play of the game" bit, if you could get a pro to pick/commentate that part it'd really take the broadcast to another level
