I go standard shit on Syndra, Grail/DCap/Morello or DFG, Void, but also get a Lichbane in lategame if it comes to that. Its very strong on her and really helps for duelling AD carries which can be hard.

Nidalee is good at stomping noobs, but against more experienced players she will often fall short. Tanks will soak her spears and shield/heal/regen, squishies will dodge. Besides that, she has a heal, and then nothing. Cougar form is usually a recipe to get blown up.

Jayce poke is way harder to dodge and he's got stuff beside that. Lux has a shield and AoE options. Other healers can usually tank up and serve as aura bots at the same time.

Nidalee doesn't fall short against experienced players unless you don't know how to play her (SEE: mancloud). Just as there's more to Jayce than his EQ combo, there's more to Nidalee than spears. If you can find situations to jump in using Jayce's Hammer you should be able to find situations where being a kitty is potent.

Edit: Also, I finally started adding mini-guides again.

Two comments to the guides, one to Katarina and one for Gangplank.

@Katarina: I think it's worth mentioning that Katarina in aram benefits exceptionally well with high CDR, you cannot always trigger the reset chain but with a high amount of CDR you can mimic it and easily make plays due to how rediculously low Shunpo's cooldown end up.
- I use an AP/CDR page and get either the anti-shroom AP item or a Morello if they have sustain.

@Gangplank: Another path, which I love in aram, is building him "AoE"-plank. Basically you rush a Iceborn and then aim for a Hydra (don't neglect tankiness inbetween - Spirit Visage is really strong). This piles up to 30% making it very easy to cap CDR if you so desire - I do and use my AD/CDR page. The result is a tanky GP, with good AoE damage (with the inborn CC to boot from Iceborn) and a strong team buff that's nearly constantly online. Oranges with max CDR and Spirit Visage are great.
- Since you can start Sheen with this route, Gangplank is a threat from the get-go.

EDIT:
I simply had to add this. I just come from a game where an, are you ready?, AP Taric carried us hard as stone. It was simply fabulous and truely outrageous - just like gems, hue. Never expected to see AP Taric going beastmode. :D

For the interested aside from Horn and Mercs rest of his items were Nashtor's + Lichbane and AP items with tanky stats.

first time i played ww on aram, it was terrible. then i learned that rushing athene's on ANYONE with an ap ratio is good.

chalice -> athene's ->kindlegem -> aegis -> spirit visage -> randuin's, tanky as heck, heals a crapton and every 60 seconds you can just zerg a squishy with your ult.

had a game with a urgot and a malz, holy that triple suppress.

40% resists shred yo. That shit hurts, and the +40% AS isn't that bad on the heal either (esp. when trying to take turrets with an AD-less team).

Nidalee is certainly not one of the strongest ARAM champs late game, but she's definitely at least top 3 early game. Her spears are the single most morale-lowering ability in all of ARAM (I think #2 would be Yi's alpha strike) - I've played sooo many games where my team wants to throw in the towel early just because of spear poke.

I actually just played my first game as nid in ARAM last night - about midway into the game I sort of felt like I was cheating. Spears are fucking ridiculous. At closer range, they become quite easy to land. Late game she is not as dominant though - I soon came to realize that if I have to go into cougar form for any reason, I'm probably already dead - had more luck just running, healing, and kiting with spears.

Suess/Monte, do you still not feel that Master Yi is top tier?? I've literally seen Yi single-handedly win more games than any other champ. We could be shitting on the enemy team hard, but once Yi starts getting resets, there's very little that you can do to stop him from wiping out your entire team, and the lead that you built early on suddenly becomes meaningless. He doesn't even need his team anymore. Unless you are lucky and have stuns/knockups on your side, he can be extremely tough to deal with.

Master Yi isn't top tier because he's much more team composition/itemization dependent than most top ARAM champions. If you're up against a super tanky team you're probably not going to get resets. If you're up against a high CC team you're not going to be able to Meditate to buy time for another Alpha Strike. If you're up against a high sustain team it's going to be extremely difficult for your team to set up the dominoes for you. There are a lot circumstances in which Master Yi simply can't get off the ground, or even dies out later in the game. It's not without reason that his winrate is only 50.4%.

That he's platinum tier is a testament to how powerful he is when circumstances allow.

How is Taric not top tier? That heal on such a low cooldown is so retarded, and max cdr makes his ult up pretty much every time. And that ranged point and click stun for stopping channeling or have people focus. Apparently hitting champs lowers the heal cd by 3 seconds. 3 auto-attacks and it's back up even without max cdr. What exactly is keeping Taric from being in top tier?

Just had a surprisingly good game as the 'moose where our comp was myself/MF/Ziggs/TF/Annie vs Diana/Elise/Vi/Soraka/Blitz; managed to resist my impulses to ROLL OUT at them and just built utility & peeled like a madman when their divebuddies went in our squishies; picked up a few triple kills from Tremors, & Elise got a bit depressed with constantly being taunted inside Ziggs/MF ults before she cld Rappel.

Because only so many champions can be top tier. Taric is good, really good, but he's not top tier good.

Remember that if a champion is in Platinum tier that means they are phenomenal in ARAMs. It's just that the champions in NeoIllusions Tier are gobsmackingly awesome.

Apologies. It turns out that planing a wedding, planning a move, looking for a job, and recovering from surgery makes it hard to find time for these things.

But Horn is awesome. It's pretty much awesome on any bruiser/tank and situationally useful on squishy champions. I frequently start Horn + Pots when I'm not rushing Bulwark.
