Finally, Riot has officially named the ten teams that will make up the inaugural franchised split of the NA LCS. It's a new era, with some old faces and some fresh faces, but with almost two months until the 2018 Spring Split begins, we’re going to have to wait for rosters to be finalized. That leaves only one thing to be judged. Logos. Who will stand above the rest with dignity and who will crumble in terrible iconography and color schemes?
1. Team Liquid

I'm going to keep this one short. Firstly, who doesn’t love horses? Nobody, of course! The dark blue is calming and serene and I’m a sucker for logos that show off a mascot. Finally, and most importantly, this author may or not be paid by Steve.
2. Counter Logic Gaming

Another of the old faces here. One of the oldest organizations in League of Legends, Counter Logic Gaming hasn’t chosen to update their logo and for good reason. It’s a classic design that looks great at first look and uses the team’s initials to create an insignia. Unlike other teams, they’ve actually crafted a design behind their logo, and it looks futuristic enough to match the new era of the NA LCS.
3. Echo Fox

This logo isn’t as iconic as some of the others on this list, however, what it lacks in history, it more than makes up for in cute foxtails. Another well-designed logo that incorporates a theme around the team’s identity and mascot rather than just using initials. Plus, orange is a cool color. Always has been, always will be.
4. Cloud 9

Cloud 9’s logo is pleasing to the eyes, while also having some depth to it. The incorporation of nines in the shape of a cloud required some modicum of talent, which is more than I can say for some of the other logos on this list.
5. Golden Guardians

If we were making a team name rankings list, Golden Guardians would struggle to get out of the top 5. However, since we’re ignoring names and focusing on logos, GG rounds out the top-5 of the list with an interesting logo that incorporates many hat tips to its backers, the Golden State Warriors. The W that dominates the icon is a clear reference to the Warriors, but what’s really interesting is the deconstructed pylon in the background referencing the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. The color scheme of blue and gold is also excellent.
6. Clutch Gaming

Clutch got more things right than wrong with this logo. The red color scheme is unique enough in a sea of blue and black. The star is a nice little touch that reminds me of the Captain America shield. Marks are taken off for the lack of a reference to the Houston Rockets ownership, besides the colour scheme. They should take some notes from the Golden Guardians.
7. Team SoloMid

The Team SoloMid logo is quite frankly just boring. It lacks the imagination of the others. However, it’s also probably the most iconic logo in League of Legends and since it’s so boring it doesn’t quite anger me as much as the others. So for that reason alone, TSM rises above some of the worst on this list.
8. Optic Gaming

Just like TSM, this logo lacks any imagination. However, it also looks like the logo for some inferior technology company pulling devices out of the factory line and scratching out the premium logo for their own and selling it at a discount. It looks bad on its own and it looks terrible on the jerseys. Somebody needs to call a do-over on this one.
9. 100 Thieves

This is the kind of logo that you’d doodle on the back of your history book when you’re completely bored out of your mind in class. And for that purpose, I’d give this an approving nod. However, this logo will serve as the defining element of a multimillion dollar company, and I just can’t get around it. There’s little to no inspiring elements to it.
10. Fly Quest

Fly Quest’s logo last season sucked. Fly Quest’s logo this season, while better is even more boring. The green and gold color scheme should resonate with me seeing as these are the colours of my national team, Australia, but really, I was never a fan. The one saving grace I can say for this logo is that it’s not much worse than the 100 Thieves logo. There’s just not a whole lot going on with this logo and a year later, we're still wondering, what even is a Fly Quest anyways?
