Both those names are better, and even so both are referred to (respectively) as TSM and C9. CC and 100T are not really great acronyms (T-100 is like 50x better), and these people have the benefit of not being 18 year old amateurs when creating the name.
Here are better (yet still stupid names)
Cleveland Legendary Esports (CLE)
Houston Oilsports University (HOU)

Why are American sports people so fucking weird when it comes to naming stuff?

Clutch City isn't that bad... I can at least convince myself it isn't horrible. 100 Thieves sounds like some elementary school kid wants to play cops and robbers but likes robbers a little too much. Who was the marketing genius who wanted to associate an organization with thieves? It's even worse this was an already established thing.

I think the "thieves" part is okay (thieves being cool sneaky guys) but why the "100"???

True, but the point is you are professionals not 18 year old Regi
Plus, clutch city is already a Houston thing from the 90s, and they dropped it because its stupid.

Man, some of you guys are harsh. The two new names aren't super cool but they're still better than Team Solo Mid. I mean really, if you just look at the words collectively, Team Solo Mid doesn't even make sense in a 5v5 MOBA game.

Yes it does? It means you're a mid laner with no one else in your lane? Or perhaps 1v9ing as mid. It makes a lot more sense in context of the game, since it came from strategy site name, and you sure don't control the other 4 people on your team.

I think you may be looking at it differently here. Teams like Team Solo Mid, Counter Logic Gaming, Cloud 9. All sounds a bit funky but they started small and built from the grass roots up. That makes the funk just part of the charm of them. Teams coming in with huge money buying spots kicking out endemic organisations( Well this happened awhile back in NA anyway) are going to be judged a lot more harshly for their funk. They didn't do anything to deserve being given leeway in silliness. Instead it feels like a cheap attempt to grab in the same kind of crowd. The sanitized corporate EA approach to design.

Mid has always been a solo lane since the inception of this game. Solo Mid seems incredibly redundant at worst. If you wanted to stress the importance of the Mid player/role, Team Mid Carry is more apt. Solo Mid in general is just a silly phrase. You'd have to have zero experience with MOBA games to garner any sort of new knowledge from that.
My main point is that Team Solo Mid is rather contradictory, if anything, if you look at the two parts. It's basically saying a team of one player (Mid)? Take that name and use it in any other new, competitive situation and you have to wonder how the other four players on the team feels that their Mid thinks he's going to 1v9 in a team game. Lastly, you got the timing a little reversed. Regi made TSM team brand long before he expanded over to League strategy on his website.
Edit: I think Cloud 9 is a good name. It comes from actual English idiom and has positive ideology behind it.
