I actually contend that it isn't OP, there are still roles champions where ignite/heal/exhaust/flash and ghost are all used. There is real cost / benefit to dropping flash or tp.

my only concern is Riot has shown a history of not letting jungle tools in lanes stay around, and I wouldn't be surpised if some champions/item get hit by some stray bullets

I mean there are definitely problems with that. For one there's less variety because smite toplanes are almost universally stronger than non-smite ones (at least for now, if we let the meta develop without patches then it would probably change but lol riot). Secondly, this means that it's more difficult to balance some things - for example, red smite was supposed to be a ganking/dueling tool. Now it's harrass tool because cd is so low that you can almost spam it. There's more potential for smite steals and every toplaner can now live their Darien fantasy.

Personally I don't give a fuck I'm just going to play whatever's strong but I guess the meme about League community hating change wasn't a meme :>

as an aside now that Volibear has to level Q to actually be fast, it would be nice if you got the (max)speed in all directions

I dont really think laners buying jungler items is an issue in it's current form. It's rather that the jungler items as a concept I'm bothered by.

Jungler items are stupidly hard to balance. If one of them are stronger than the rest it sort of push out junglers who doesn't use said item and they are by default at a disadvantage since they are forced into using an inferior item.

Because laners taxing the jungle is the "Problem" that the jungle item is supposed to fix. If they don't accomplish that goal, they should be scrapped entirely because...

I think in our modern age technology has evolved to become more addictive. The things that don't give us pleasure aren't used as much. Work was never meant to be fun, but doing it makes us happier in the long run.

The goal is to make the ability useful when you have to run away too, not to make him zoom zoom for "free". Initially, you didn't get anything when not running to an enemy iirc.

Indeed. One of the reasons that the jungle is always seems to have a small "optimal" champion pool is because usually there is 1 "best" jungle item. Its basically the old league of cleavers, except, because jungle items have generally been not overpowering for laners (and if they were, quickly nerfed) except limited to 1 role.

%hp runes are typically stronger than scaling HP runes if you're expecting your HP to break 5k, which can happen with cinderhulk but usually only on champs who get some sort of bonus HP through their kit.

What's a good tanky support currently?
I'm bad at Thresh (and Alistar, who prob isn't good anyway) who's going to be banned or picked most of the time anyway, and Braum and Leona don't really cut it in terms of peeling, especially against melee divers (trying to play Leona againt something like Zed is inane because lol who needs casting times, and Braum's E doesn't do much if the comp is mostly melee or you have to deal with a champion like Xin).

I could pick Nami or Lulu for peeling but when the team picks 4 squishies and the enemy team has a frontline I need to provide some tankiness, and so far when we don't already have a solid frontline and we're against these type of champions I feel a bit stuck in terms of what to pick.
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.

I think the only tanky support you haven't mentioned is Nautilus? You could try that.
