Like... if my lane opponent spends his first 900 gold on non-combat stats and comes to lane with no potential combat summoners... thats a HUUGE gamble for him. Gives you ages to exploit that shit. Who cares if he is level 2, thats only like 60 gold worth of stats now a days. Just all in the mofo. What he going to do? Flash away? Smite you? Teleport home even though he likely TP'd to lane? I kind of thinks its a non-issue for soloqueue, and riot has already shown they like the double jungle thing in competitive. | ||

Thats not a Cinderhulk problem though, thats a there is too many safe laners problem though. Or quit picking stuff like Maokai that can't really punish kids when you are ahead. There are a ton of champs that would dumpster a Shyvana going top with Smite/TP. Panth comes to mind, J4, Aatrox, Xin, even like Volibear. I think the meta can easily adjust and make this a terrible terrible strat unless you are 1v2ing. Hell, even pick a bad early game champion and use the lack of earyl game pressure / presence to farm. Poppy / Karthus, WW even. I still dont even understand why people are upset about top laners taking smite anyway. What difdference does it make... smite, TP, Ignite... same thing really. | ||

Cinderhulk is strong, possibly OP but Skirmisher smite is a problem and I'm not sure what Riot wants/is going to do about it, every iteration they have tried has gotten a hero nerfed that would not have otherwise been nerfed if Skirmish smite was not so strong I actually really agree with Clutz's point, looking back 2 years fotm/op junglers have always been the ones that can use the strongest jungle item at the time, very rarely has it been about the actual hero being OP idk thats kinda a problem (although I'd downgrade it to 50/50 jungle items being a problem and Riot limiting their own design space by removing aura strats from the game) | ||

Smite/TP toplaners doesn't start with machete, you can easily do a single camp with Doran's Blade or Ruby Crystal for instance. First buy is usually Bami's Cinder, which is combat stats, and a pretty deceptively good one at that too. | ||

I've asked this like 10 times, no one has a reason other than "because." Everyone complains that LoL has not enough cool active items... Smite now is essentially an active item and everyone hates it. | ||
