Still, I think those autos should hurt just a bit less maybe. Also, vs Soraka, you have full mapcontrol over bottom half of river and your ADC shouldn't be behind in cs. I think that does qualify as doing whatever you want.

There's a reason you can nerf, nerf, nerf, and nerf Lee Sin a dozen times and he still is one of the best junglers in the game. His kit will always be great just like Thresh's. The numbers on abilities almost don't matter because of the playmaking and utility they both can provide if done correctly. It's not really that their character designs are flawed, but rather it shows how boring and bland so many other character designs are. To be fair, many champs in the past couple of years are better than previous ones, but there are still always the ones with a cohesive idea that play/look/feel phenomenal.

Thresh is a very good support that is versatile and is easy to make plays with. It says a lot that there's a lot of one-hit wonders at the pro level who are basically Thresh mains and only ok on other Supports. But I wouldn't say he's the most powerful Support though after a lot of the nerfs. I think that title still goes to Janna. Morgana is also top 3 in my opinion.

Oh for sure, I didn't mean to imply that he's A#1numeroUno. However, he will always be a great, probably top tier support, unless they actually nerf him into the ground just like they'd have to do to Lee Sin, because they're both gods.

Janna was pretty awful after the shield nerf (the one where the buff dissipated if you broke the shield) all of your peers getting nerfed 2+ times =/= staying good after a nerf. also her ult got a fairly heavy buff in the downtime.

More people can play him competently at a high level than a couple of the other good supports. However, the other supports are more difficult to use properly so you see a higher average of good Thresh players. I'm definitely less happy to see a random thresh in my game than any other support, but I'd rather run into a great thresh than a great Janna, Morg, or maaaaybe even Nami. (Edit: Obviously this is a hard discussion in the abstract given so many factors that change from game to game) 2nd late edit: Having begun playing a lot recently after many months off, did something happen to Heimer recently? Anytime I see him in a game (although I'm never placed against his lane) he just seems to crush.

You prefer a great thresh because it is much easier to followup on great thresh plays compared to janna for example. The thresh does all the work most of the time while the janna will give you the opportunity.
