volibear same school of thought.

its also important to know, the way devourer is tuned right now, its extremely powerful for all three types of junglers (gankers team fighters and farmers) provided you are going to spend a bunch of time attacking rather than spell casting constantly, udyr excluded obviously.

going back to the rocks after wolves allows you to do 2-3 more camps before backing because of the hp you save with the smite buff stun and the travel time is somewhat mitigated by shyvana's W.

maybe just backing with enough for blade + boots is better because you save travel time and are less vulnerable, but it might have a negative effect on your ability to purchase a 10min devourer on your second back, although then smiting red could probably get you an extra camp or two on your first clear.

edit: after first try you're definitely gonna have issues saving up 1500g for devourer before your second back, even if you get 5 pots with your boots and blade on your first back, did hit 6 in like 7min tho.

20+ seconds was a conservative estimate and I'd be shocked if Shyvana could make the trip from wolves to rocks and back faster than that. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was more like 30 seconds. Either way that's a ton of wasted time and not remotely worth it.

Just Blade + Machete Upgrade if you really don't want boots.

is that travel time really going to be more than adding in an entire extra back before you can finish your devourer tho?

edit: actually i guess it is because you can still finish devourer+boots in sub 10min by squeezing in a quick second back while waiting for camps to respawn after a full 4 camp clear following your first B.

edit2: surprisingly smiting red instead of birds like alaric suggested actually leaves you with less hp due to the extra damage you take from the birds, the little birds probably hurt a lot more than the little cinders at red.

Nope. Nope. Nope-nope-nope.

Nautilus came out in s2 and was gp5 -> Aegis same as stuff like Maokai.
Wit's End didn't even do that much to him until his W was fixed because until then the closest you were to a round AS number without hitting it the better you were, and Wit's put him over 1 AS. It was a luxury item who would be able to build on him if you were fed and wanted some offense, but it was never core or anywhere close to it. It's only that unless you want to go the AP route he didn't have much of a choice when it came to offensive itemisation.

I mean you can sit around and say that. but it doesn't change it from being one of the most common items on him when he was played back then.

Cho was also not wits. He went gp5 oracle tank. Well what junglers didn't just rush gp5 oracle back then.

Yeaaaaaah... nope. I mained Naut in s2, s3, and cried when I couldn't s4. I think I know my Nautilus thank you. Wit's was awkward to build because it also received nerfs in the meantime and was incredibly underwhelming defense-wise until it was completed, which was 1k+ gold and the AS only really benefitted Nautilus while his W was active (and it wasn't over 1).
It was never good or popular. It was a cute offensive item if you were snowballing. Lane Nautilus built straight-up AP too.

I mean, sure, you can go and tell me that Warmogs was a popular item on Volibear too. I know, a good half of the Volitop I saw built it. First. Sometimes bootless. Doesn't mean it was a good item on him in these circumstances or a thing to do.
Wit's when Naut wasn't ahead was basically dead weight for the longest time.

^ Naut didn't rush oracle because he needed more than gp5 before he became more than a punching bag if caught out (after they nerfed his W the first time). Too slow and unable to fight people 1v1/survive well. If he did get a (level) lead, or something like a giant's belt, then he could get oracle yeah.

It's really useless to sit here and argue about what builds were common on a champion over two years ago, especially since the two of you played on different servers.

Next let's talk about how bad Heart of Gold was.

They fix things when they become a big enough problem to need fixing. That's just good business.

I can see why the companies you listed would do it. First of all they can afford it, second of all it's zero risk because adobe for example don't piss off their other customers by letting hackers dick around with their own copies of photoshop, but to actively encourage people to hack a multiplayer game would just be retarded.

I'm a software developer. I know anything I've written that is over one or two years old simply isn't up to my current standards. The last thing I want is to encourage other people to find faults with it. I KNOW it's shitty, but for me to go back and fix my old code that works perfectly fine as long as you're not actively trying to fuck with it is just a huge time and moneysink that I don't see anyone but huge companies like Google, Mozilla, Microsoft, Adobe, etc being able to afford, and I definitely don't fault Riot for not fixing anything that's not making headlines.

Also, to fuck around with old code is asking for trouble, as Riot above all have proven again and again. Every time they change something, new bugs crop up. Now that's how you piss off your customers.

Fuck you Osmoses.

LOL.

I brought it up that time IIRC. Get wrecked Osmoses.

I'm going to guess all the low hanging fruit has been tackled though, I don't see most regular people (cs major or equivalent without dedication to learning about security problems) being able to find serious exploits, a good thing I guess. In-game bugs must be tested on PBE though, that's somewhat annoying.

I do distinctly remember a S2 game pre-made 10s game where I carried hard as Wit's End Nautilus. For what it's worth.

Ehh, you can sit around and say that but the go-to builds on both Cho and Naut definitely didn't include Wit's End.

Umm, Cho has been meta relevant much more recently than naut (basically bit since s2 for naut). Cho was s3 spring pick, the odd one had some ridiculous record on it.

I haven't been following the pre-season too closely, but of my initial leash-less tests, Sejuani, Diana, Hecarim, Nocturne, and Amumu can all fully clear at ~4:15 going golems -> wraiths -> red -> wolves -> wight -> blue. I'm running attack speed/armor/MR/armor and 6/21/3 in masteries.

Considering I don't have to make any changes from the champs/runes/masteries I was running last season, I'm pretty satisfied :D

What's the Hecarim clear like? I had extreme mana issues on him.

I thought he might struggle with mana, so I tried going wight -> wolves -> blue, but the damage mitigation from golems is so much better than the wight aura... that run I barely killed golems and couldn't do red.

The successful test didn't have noteworthy mana problems, I went QWQ and spammed on every camp except wolves and wight, where I only used Q. Smiting blue was enough mana to spam that camp. The only micro I was doing was waiting for 2 stacks of Q before using W, and timing it with the smite on red.

EDIT: I could go back and count how many Qs I used per camp if that would be helpful
