playing the op stuff first will also help soften the learning curve because the extra ~5% you win due to champ strength will lessen the amount of frustration that builds up when you suck at a role.

My most successful AD pick is Draven. Lol. Every game I pick Lucian I lose horribly. Go figure.

IMO, the best ADCs to start with are ezreal, Lucian and Corki.

They teach you a few fundamental things.

Laning:
All have stable matchups against other ADCs, and teach you to weave spells between autos without cancelling them.
Positioning - Lucian/Corki want to be in a position to punish either the enemy adc or support with poor positioning because they generally win any trade with auto+Q+auto. Both can punish risky last-hits very well.
Ezreal's an oddball in lane positioning since he usually wants to be on the side of the creep waves rather than behind it, relying on the threat of his Q to create space to farm.

Skirmishes/Teamfights.
All three can deal some damage from afar before joining the teamfight. All three can poke the backline while simultaneously autoing the frontline. Joining the teamfight and geting your first ~three autos off without taking CC or heavy damage is the hardest part of the teamfight. They also all have three escapes - generally speaking - Instant (flash), MS (heal), dash.

In all cases though, your job as ADC is to do as much damage as possible in a teamfight, regardless of if you're winning or losing, you should be doing close to if not the most damage on your team on these ADCs because they're so safe in teamfights.

The real reason for Ashe as the first choice of an ADC is simply the 450 ip cost. So you don't lose much until you find out that the support does all the work anyway.

Once the 2014 season is officially wrapped, we’re going use a staggered rollout during preseason, pushing the updated map onto live in stages to help ensure server stability. Here’s the order for our planned rollout:

Stage 1: Team Builder and all bot games
Stage 2: All normal modes and custom games
Stage 3: Ranked

Should be in Stage 1 unless there was delays.

450 IP is nice. But Ashe is legit good.

Was hoping someone could confirm if it's up yet. I'll just do a bot game to test then I guess.

Personally, I feel the best ADCs to practice with are Caitlyn, Ezreal, and Lucian.

IMO, Cait teaches you how to last hit. Ezreal teaches you about skill shots. Lucian teaches you positioning in team fights.

Lol, they changed the Dragon bonus.

Now first Dragon gives you +8% ap / ad.

First Dragon decides every game now, apparently. Even on just base stats that's like 400 gold. O.o

So are you willing to say that 100% of the time when the first team who kills dragon will then win the game? Or is this just hyperbole?

Well, obviously not 100%, but in games gold or higher the first Dragon at 190 gold wins like 70 to 80% of games, increasing as you go higher in rank.

Clearly now first Dragon will be just as if not more important if the 8% ad / ap goes through, seeing how it pretty well doubles it's value now.

The statement "the first Dragon at 190 gold wins like 70 to 80% of games" is much, much weaker than the statement that they won because of Dragon.

I would believe that the first team to take nexus turret is also strongly favored to win. This doesn't mean that the game was decided because they took the nexus turret, it's the other way around: They were probably taking the nexus turret because the game was already heavily in their favor before.

If your statement was right, all I'd need to do to gain massive ELO would be to pick a jungler that can solo Dragon rapidly and always do that at the expense of anything else (e.g. neglecting lanes and team fights entirely). I doubt that'd get me anything near a 70-80% win rate. Since I play jungle Malz anyway, it'd not even be that hard to do... :-)

Riot doesn't keep a set schedule, but the last preseason was near 2 months long.
