I swear post WC, pre-season end is the worst time of the year in league. No real tournaments will happen and can't play with the new changes yet.

I'm enjoying a bunch of Spaniards beating up gamers squared at PGW.

The best part of the offseason for me is watching the teams shake up, dota's been through it so many times you lose count, now that league is going through something similar reddit is raising their fists in anger at Kespa for ruining the korean scene by "not paying players much money" and for all the koreans leaving korea. Anything to avoid looking at riots decision to force a new type of league and cut the number of teams playing in half as bad.

Pls show actual proof that Riot forced it on Kespa and OGN.

well a whole OGN champions tournament got cancelled so clearly this wasn't OGNs plan, Reducing the amount that the sponsors get displayed internationally isn't something that the sponsors(KESPA) would like. so they wouldnt do that willingly. the fact that things happen to line up with LCS rules and regulations surely isn't a coincidence. and let's not forget that over the past couple months we've been hearing stuff about the korean scene being shaken up and riot korea having a hand in it.

I dont have the minutes if thats what you expect me to provide. but its rather obvious that this wasn't OGN kespa acting on their own.

Urgh. Tried to pick up Kennen, and apart from his auto animation being so clunky it'll take time to get used to, his E is so bad nowadays.

Not saying it'd bad in a vacuum, but compared to all the mobility, not even dashes, but just MS, a 2s increase on such a massive cooldown and that he may need to deal his damage is a huge liability. If you can't flank, any kind of dash or slow is enough to get away (MS buffs depend on distance).
It also makes his initiation telegraphed so there's not much to do against cc (that I was against a Soraka whose W and E are basically instant didn't help, especially the E: can't flash, activate the ult, or Q with Rylai to force someone in range).
I also leant that he's one of the few champions with a flat 120s cd at all levels (thought it went down like the others; since I mentioned that yesterday, I also don't think his ult warrants the high cd since with all the mobility issues getting a good ult off is exceedingly difficult, making its average power level lower than a bunch).

I'll keep playing him of course, but he looks way worse than I thought when I considered picking him up, so I'll probably look elsewhere even though he seemed fun. If he's that weak/hard to play atm, not worth the effort. :<

Yeah kennen is definitely a champion left behind by power creep. far more than the champions they've been reworking.

speaking of reworks, i wonder why riot decided to give reworks to the newer inexperienced staff, rather than putting their Top. Men. on it, and letting the newbies fumble around internally with new champ ideas. It seems odd to take a champion that has an existent fanbase and player base and completely change them and put that change in the hands of someone inexperienced who is probably more likely to screw it up than someone experienced.

This is my wild tinfoil hat theory:

Riot in the past year or so hired a lot of people to develop a new game (the trading card game that was leaked), but it didn't go so well so Riot cancelled it. But Riot didn't want to let all the people they hired go away, so Riot gave these people some work to do to keep them within the company.

Hence all the (somewhat unnecessary) reworks/etc. that we are seeing today.

Again, just a tinfoil hat theory.

That'd be odd yeah? if they bungled up a game from scratch so badly that riot had to can the project why would they want to keep that staff around and put them on the flagship?

Well hiring people does cost money by itself. Sometimes you can find extra work for your employees instead of just letting them go.

Company like Riot would probably get 3 or 4 digit applications per position. It takes a lot of work to find one person to work there. You've already hired some of the best people you can, so you might as well put them to work doing something.

It's also bad reputation for the company to hire someone then let the person go after only a very short period of time.

The reworks have been on champions that have the lowest playerbase of all champions. Or champions too toxic to leave alone. As much as I dislike the change in powerspike on viktor from mid to late I at least recognize that he was picked only 1% of the time (iirc not including dominion where he is/was stronger). If we think about the number of picks that represents it's about 1 in 500 to 1000 people having him as a regular part of their rotation

Riot post on the new jungle

Can someone pull up the last two posts they've done on the new jungle to compare and contrast?

Like, oh wow! They're trying to bring back Strategic Diversity to junglers! Finally, they've officially decided to take on this grueling task!

After a few dozen repetitions of the Lee Sin vs. Kha’zix match up, we as junglers have a very good idea of how the match up will play out, and the game is very likely to feel very similar to the games before and after

How is that even specific to the jungle? Then again it's a Riot PR post, so same as they same "the jungler knows how he'll play before loading screen is up", we know most of the content is garbage to read-and-forget before we start looking at the actual text.

Honestly all reworks(but skarner) I have seen so far from riot improved the champions.Maybe some of them weren't needed like xerath but they definitely overall improved him.

Saying you know how jungle matchups go is really fucking stupid though. It is the only role in the game which you can't predict lol.

Well if I'm Udyr against Shaco I know I'm going to farm faster than him and that it'd be useless to try and countergank every time he'll show up. If I'm J4 against Elise I know I'd better not invade at level 3, etc.

For a Riot PR post that line made me more mad than I've been in awhile. This game isn't simple enough for you to know how things will play out before even playing them. Pro players can't even do that lol.

Except it's a team game. It's not just you vs Shaco or you vs Elise. In the game there might be a sitaution where you team can invade or a situation where counterganking will lead to huge advantage for you team. Acting like this game is 1v1 is pathetically narrowminded. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the enemy helps you determine what to do but your course of action is predetermined, it's always changing based on the conditions in game.

You could easily countergank as udyr vs shaco or invade elise as j4 that isn't really true. It's all about how you do it.Junglers don't have fair 1v1s or w/e like laners sometimes do.
