Listening to Monte analyzing the CLG vs CRS game one makes me think CLG should have picked Ashe instead of Twitch, haha.

Monte kept saying they lacked engage against a Nidalee team. And we all know what Ashe can be used for :3

Keep in mind it's far easier to get stacks from harassment than to last hit minions with your low poison damage (which tends to get screwed over by your own minions before you get farmed). Maybe I'm just bad but 375 stacks just seems like a pipe dream.

Just q or w a wave, and use twin fang to last hit? The mana gets refunded on her E if you get a kill. I don't think 375 is that crazy in a 35 minute game- half from minions, half from champions being poisoned. Unless the E doesn't count as a poison kill with q/w on the minion, but that would be really weird.

....

I'm terrible at reading, evidently as long as the unit is poisoned and you cs it you get the credit. That would make a big difference.

It's okay, it happens.

I'm looking at you, initial Lucian changes.

I like pr0lly as a guest, he's definitely engaging in the conversation with Thorin/Monte. He's pretty obviously into the discussion of the playoff performances/pick bans.

Its just as easy to protect an Amumu or Gragas jungle as to protect an Ashe ADC (probably easier). In fact, this is something I would actually like to see a team do considering how well most of them do laneswaps. Something like Nami/Amumu and whatever you want at ADC/Mid/Top. Not that I am a fucking pro, but the main reason to not just always pick Amumu (in my games) is good Elise or Lee or Khazix players will just shit on you before your get your first double buffs (eliminated by laneswaps), between buffs wearing out and level 6 (probably still brutal in LCS), or just take a dragon while you are in the useless phase (also probably tough).

Nevermind, my stream of consciousness has defeated my original POV. Maybe Ashe is a good idea.

I've actually been learning from him today it's really weird.

In other news probably going to try and start watching this show if they have good pros on, Monte doesn't seem to be wildly off base with everything like he does in social media.

I just afk push a lane, and try and draw like 2 or 3 people, and hope my team can 4v2 or 4v3.

Not anymore sadly, since the addition of crucible Ashe team fight initiation is easy to counter. It is still an amazing weapon to pick off stragglers, but a lot less effective if the crucible support is near the target.
Be nice, buy wards and don't feed double buff.

Last game I played our Lucian gives up first blood. It's more or less my fault because I, Janna, ate a blitz hook(I got hooked a lot that lane phase) but we almost turned it and he got outplayed and their jungle showed up.

(All)Lucian: GG WP.

It's 3 minutes into the game. The teams are Lucian, Janna, Xerath, Warwick, and Renekton versus Cait, Blitz, Diana, Jarvan, and Nidalee.

We tell him to hold on because cait doesn't scale and because we have a much better teamfight. We both die do a Nid teleport bot at 12:30 and they take our tower and we think they take dragon(they actually didn't despite having it pinked).

But eventually they have to siege after taking some towers and a dragon off picks because Rene is strong enough to stop Nids split push. But they cannot because Xerath clears waves like woah and I can prevent poke tower damage with my shield. All this time Lucian is complaining about how were going to lose and how we should surrender at 20. 20 minutes comes around and he starts a surrender vote which fails 1 to 4.

About 1 minute later we get a good rolling engage and snowball the game super hard with smart vision and good talismans. Xerath ends up 13/1/who cares and Warwick ends up 12/3/14 in a 28 kill game that ends when we take their nexus at 35 minutes.

If he trolled us or he quit we probably would not have won. He was super negative and that didn't help but he wasn't actively trolling either. So no you should not troll your teammates in games you're going to lose. You're going to lose games in which you troll your teammates though.

That confuses me. They pick a Kog mid after seeing the Nid and they want engage? Kog mid is the nidalee of the past- pretty much automatically making your team a poke comp. If they were worried about Nid splitting them to death, it's beyond me why they had Kog mid in their plans. Mao top/ori mid would've been better. Engage at anytime with Mao and go ham with bloodboiled twitch in the backline.

That's pretty much exactly what Monte said, mao ori would have been his choice.
Also, prolly easily my favorite person on SI so far, the dude is classy as fuck.

It also makes twitch a bad pick since his siege and tower engages are terrible. Having a poke mid and a pick AD on the same team doesn't make sense. Having an AD that is bad at sieging is really poor if you're concerned about a split push because you know that the enemy team if it's winning the split will be ok with simply holding the siege.

So you pick either a siege comp for your remaining 4 or an engage comp for your remaining 4/5 but you don't split the difference. Twitch isn't really either of those.

Edit: Varus is the right AD. He has AoE engage and good siege with his q poke and e zone.

Oh ok, I'm glad Monte knows what went wrong but it's beyond me why CLG did what they did when Monte knew it was gonna fail.

Also has anyone seen Meteos explaining why its bad to rage to another challenger player? I'm both surprised that the guy was legitimately looking for an answer to why he shouldn't rage and that Meteos actually explained it rather well for something I thought was obvious.

Because players are not coaches.

Also on the Meteos+Warlock thing, the guy just sounded frustrated that people are making mistakes they shouldn't be making.

Monte does whatever he can to deflect blame from him every time clg loses, and always acts like if they had only LISTENED, they would have won. you are a terrible coach if you can't get a team to listen to you.

Maybe this is just my bias/experience with Vi coming in, but after all the recent jungler nerfs, she seems to be the cream of the crop, most likely to be fotm champ in solo Q for a while.

%HP damage with her AA/skills? Check. (The W is pretty good if you can get the 3 hits off)
Decent dive/disengage? Check. (Q lets her get close, E is decent dmg. once you get in there)
Decent clear time? Check. (First lap or two thru jungle is slow, but once she gets Spirit Stone she's good)
Ways to get to the back line? CHECK. (Ult lockdown is only stopped by Morg shield, Zhonyas is only thing to fully nullify it, and you still get into the back unless they immediately click it)

Also, as for CLG vs Curse match, I felt CLG's pick/ban phase was horrendous all 3 games. If the plan going in was to let Dlift carry you past Curse, then get champions that can protect whatever ADC he gets, whether it's Koggles, Twitch, Tristana, even Jinx or Ashe. And as for bans, you just ban Yasuo or Trist against Voyboy, then flex pick based upon what did good/bad in the previous game, and if Curse wants to try and do a Voyboy carry game then have Dexter camp the ever living shit out of him on an early game jungler like Elise or Lee Sin.
