See, the problem early game is clear, but late game he needs to use his passive to get E reduced. He has 50 less range to do that, meaning he's 50 range closer to getting bursted when he goes in. Lucian's best point now will probably be mid-game when he can make use of his high mobility without having to be really scared of his low range. Vayne works around it because her ult gives her invisibility and her AA damage is higher (also more range). Sivir works around it with her spell shield and the utility her ult gives (she also now has a better lvl 1 depending on who her support is). Ezreal worked because he could pump out Qs from long distance faster than Lucian could, and Frozen applied its on-hit on Q. | ||

He had 35% CDR from items alone, probably 5% from masteries, and blue buff so he was capped in that 1v1. The fight is irrelevant. The point is look how fast he can E>aa>E>aa. And given that his Q is on a 3 second cooldown Lucian's passive has effectively a 100% uptime past the midgame if he itemizes for it. | ||

About kiting people, when Jayce tooled on pretty much anyone Irelia and Fiora were amongst the only ones who could actually pressure him past level 3 (maybe Jarvan with his ult up, or Mundo (but he wasn't being played top at the time) because they could close the gap on him then reengage once he pressed E (if he pressed EQ instead they were done anyway because of the slow that let me run out of range). Lucian can disengage like that much more, although he's going to need CDR and some levels in E first (he'll prob max it second since W isn't that good and the MS bonus doesn't scale with levels—although I think Lucian should always have maxed E second anyway, but apparently people did Q>W>E?), so pretty much no melee could keep up with him unless they can cc him before his dash (sorry Jax) and burst him then use the fact that he disengaged to retreat before he retaliates. | ||
