with ashe you'll learn to play like a pussy but won't die, with cait you'll (hopefully) learn to dominate your lane. I think generally it's better to start out overaggressive and taper down rather than the other way around.

I feel like Ashe is harder to learn ADC on because she's 100% reliant on positioning and is extremely unforgiving. Cait Ez Graves Lucian all far easier to position with and have escapes. I didn't feel like I knew how to ADC until I understood Caitlyn though, to be honest. Learning to farm perfectly while controlling a wave and slowly harassing and pushing down a tower in complete safety was a big deal for me.

I would argue that "harder to be good on" and "better to learn on" are the same thing when the aspect that its harder to achieve is the core of the position.

I agree, but starting off on Ashe is very sink-or-swim-ish lol. You can slowly build up positional awareness for an ADC using champs that are a little more forgiving. Ashe dies to small positional errors as well as large ones and it's pretty hard to tell the difference if you're already bad at positioning. At least with escapes/range/ms you have a little margin of error to be like "okay, that was close."

i started learning how to play adc with tristana. i think getting used to (and learning from) going all-in in marginal situations is as important as any other skill you can learn and you have to go hard with trist early if you want to be successful. how and when you follow up on your support trying to make a play is kind of a big deal bot lane and the nature of her W makes that a very binary decision with clear feedback to learn from.

she also has good mechanics to practice with both small auto+E trades and key mashing W-E-R mid-air combos. although her playstyle is different from other adcs, the things you learn playing her do translate to other champions. like i used to be terrible at checking my opponents items, but thanks to habits learned from trying to figure out if i was gonna die if jumped on the opposing adc, now i am almost always aware of whether they picked up a BF sword or just boots and a vamp scepter.

in my experience playing safe caster adcs that can stick to the outskirts of a fight and do mediocre damage because they're afraid to commit are terrible for picking up the role. i played a ton of corki and lucian games in S3 and didn't learn shit.

I started ADC with Draven. He teaches you a lot about positioning. You have know when to get into auto range, because you have no real persistent damage outside of it. He also has small safety tools with stand aside and blood rush, but they are certainly no arcane shift. Draven also gets you thinking a lot about trading, because you want to be aggressive early with your damage output.

Nowadays, I prefer Varus and Sivir when I have to ADC though.

I think playing just one ADC as a new player isn't really a good idea. You should play a mix of ADC's, cause they teach different general game knowledge things that are useful to learn.

For a more experienced player learning to ADC, sticking to just one seems ok though.

I remember playing against Ashe when I was just starting to play the game. She was stronger than me, but I kept getting in range of her, getting slowed and being unable to escape and dying. Ashe confirmed strongest ADC.

Oh my god. And Caitlyn? So much range. I remember harassing people down by just autoing them in mid lane. Who needs damage when you can start meki pendant and spam Qs from outside their range?
I think in our modern age technology has evolved to become more addictive. The things that don't give us pleasure aren't used as much. Work was never meant to be fun, but doing it makes us happier in the long run.

If I have to ADC Draven/Cait are usually my go to picks.
Cait for safety and Draven if im feeling manly

Yeah, go to http://www.reddit.com/r/loleventvods.

Really neat subreddit for spoiler free VoDs from most LoL leagues

Doesn't seem to have vods for game one and two though, heard the streams were lagging for the first two games as well, so it might be related to that. OGN had some internet issues or something.

The problem with learning how to play with Caitlyn for me at least was that she's really really easy to lane with. So when I switched to another adc I had huge laning issues, while teamfighting was pretty good.

Playing Karthus right now in preparation for the visual update.,..

All I can really say is he doesn't feel that good.

lol.

You lose every lane, things happen way too fast now a days to actually get monies from R or farm. Maybe I'm just bad at Karthus though.

Yeah Karthus loses to pretty much every strong mid at the moment, there's a reason he's never seen anymore. Ziggs and Leblanc really mess him up by just shoving and can both harass really well, Orianna does well against him in my experience, Yasuo and Zed totally crush him with mobility and all-in threat, Soraka has always beat him 1v1 (although she got nerfed) and he has a lot of specific bad matchups like Kassadin/Xerath and Riven mid.

It's rough because he was one of my favorite mid champs in S2 and I feel like ever since jungle got changed and a lot of new mid champs were released he's been really hard to pick favorably for whatever reason.

I thought Riven couldn't do anything against Karthus as long as he has Exhaust up? @_@

I dunno but in a real game you'd have your jungler there for when you did some combination of flash W Q ignite, even if he's got exhaust you probably just kill him straight up, and hexdrinker is really strong against Karthus too
