If he started W he'd have 150+125% AP magic damage at level 1, all big AoE. This is more than a max range rank 1 Nidalee spear, for example. I imagine in most games he'd start Q though, who knows. | ||

 I initially didn't even notice the 'em part since I thought it only played on the homophony with the verbs and I thought barium would reference the "you", not a "them".I get fish puns better but it's dangerous waters for them here. | ||

like if you can justify not maxing Q on LeBlanc in the name of waveclear I can't see people maxing that thing. edit: reading backwards ftl I see ketara mention it last page, I completely agree. especially if scaling (which Ketara confirms) supports it. | ||

Q is better for all in and harass, W is better for wave clear and what I'm pretty sure you'd max most of the time to prevent your opponent's roam. But there's no way that a 15% slow on W is going to help you land the second hit on a person by itself. Against a naked W (with no other ability support) your opponent can literally run across the thing BETWEEN the hits, the skill is slow enough that a 15% slow will not meaningfully help you land the second hit. It's completely unnecessary anyways because even if you max W any stronger CC (whether it's an ally's or your Q/E) can seamlessly lead into a W(E/Q)WR->death combo where both Ws will hit both times given you're in position and they don't burn flash. The slow from Rylai's is a trap in regards to his ultimate because your difficulty in landing ult ticks will be flashes blinks and dashes which Rylai's does not help with in the slightest. And since Rylai's isn't your only choice of tanky item this means you should pick up something else if you need survivability. I do not think Liandry's is obvious, despite the usefulness of an early guise, because as a non-mobile champion focused on burst damage with only geometry Qs for realistic poke (straight Qs and W are too short-ranged) you're taking on a lot of risk during a siege: if the enemy team has strong engage you can easily get caught out of position and E only knocks a few people back (and can be missed), meanwhile your Qs are not nearly as threatening as ziggs bombs or nid spears. Let's just say it's situational depending on the teams. One point in its favor: you already have a slow on your poking skill so again you really don't need Rylai's. For reference, while it's true Vel'koz isn't even out yet and it can take some weeks to really get a handle on champs, I've played him on the PBE myself and also watched diamond players play him on streams (including one who really seemed to "get it" far beyond everyone else), so I think I have a pretty good feeling for how he flows in lane, sieges, and combos, and have a (meaningless in a week) head start on item builds. | ||
