If an average of 3 people assist a kill each of them gets 50 gold. But if you have an assist streak you get 40 bonus gold for a total of 90.
In order to min/max team fight gold you would want to only let the carries get kills so the other 3 could stack the assist bonus (which is 40 gold each from a vacuum).
They improved support gold from masteries and items vastly so I don't see why this mechanic needs to exist if only to promote the solo Q masses to team fight more often for the bonus gold.
Assists are worth 50% of the kill value before 20 minutes and then they linearly increase up to 80% at 35 minutes
This helps too

This game just needs to add a 4th lane. Bam, no more supports.

Gold items just create a source of income that cannot fluidly be transferred.

CC means that this doesnt work that simply yango having a support with enough gold to walk past the tema and stun your ADC and maybe some damage too means having an extra item is useless if it's too risky to go in

LoL's version of BKB is surely imminent.

I've been slumping pretty hard over the last few days, dropped from D1 45 LP (peak) to D1 0 LP. Any advice for recovering from a slump and learning from it?

I always thought Mercurial was their attempt at LoL BKB with the 1 second movement speed buff on melee.
No surprise, it sucks and I don't know anyone that builds Mercurial on Melee.

Dunno about others but 10 games hardly seems like a slump to me.You could easily do that after a bad day/being tired or just plain old bad rng.

usually slumping means you're not focusing on learning and/or are also in a bad mental state which could be to several factors (not eating/sleeping well/stress etcetc) and these things are not conducive to learning

10 net losses purely from variance when massing games over a couple days isn't unheard of, just keep playing or sit out a bit if it's getting to your head
also variance is probably larger in the preseason due to people not being used to the game so consider that as well
bkb would be so glorious in league and make for so many ridiculous plays, i see no reason not to implement it immediately. would throw in force staff too after this mlg

D1 is basically 3-5 points per win/loss, so thats a 9 game losing streak. The difference from low D1 to high D1 is larger then the rest of diamond combined.
Edit: 9 game losing steak >.>.

Yeah, I have a friend who was from like ~10 lp d1, recently made 30lp in d1, was super happy.

People have forgotten that regular wards and Sightstone exist now that Yellow is in the game. What the fuck.
