Was out of the final contract, I wouldnt be convinced this is a final draft, but rather a leaked early draft. Regardless if it stands in the end or not its always interesting seeing the outrage I fucking hope so. If that's the case, my bad for falling for onGamer click-bait.

That's some grade A bullshit. Hearthstone bad, magic the gathering online good. Some of these titles don't even exist anymore. The Warhammer moba for example was shut down in March. Can't stream WoW, but Swtor and Gw2 is okay? It's like they just hurled a dartboard at games and said no to them. Who the hell is playing Fat princess? I don't even know what that is! Why do they care about World of tanks? I don't see many hardcore moba fans leaving League for a bloody tank sim. Should we expect Mechwarrior online to show up at some point if it's scene ever gets popular?

I also heard that Mcdonals employee's can't bring burger king in and eat it at the front coutner. wow people hunt for drama. They're paying them to be competitors or else they'd be on the marketing team. I realize that it's a damn fine line but they didn't start streaming to pimp Riot, they did it because they liked playing games. And they should be able to play the games they like because as far as I know they're not on the clock 24 hours a day. It's more like a McDonalds employee can't eat at Burger King in public EVER because it sends the wrong message about the company. Like... what?

Where's it even possible to play that? I thought it got canceled years ago. It disappeared from Aeria Games website ages ago.

I'd assume it only means they can't stream Hearthstone in between LoL queues, it doesn't look like it means they can't stream Hearthstone at all. They just have to say they're streaming Hearthstone, not say they're streaming LoL but when you click on the Twitch link in the LoL section you get them playing Hearthstone. Not that I agree with it. If they want to restrict what the LCS players stream in between solo queue games, maybe the queue times shouldn't be 10 minutes long. But I don't think it's particularly surprising or worth much hatred. It's pretty normal business practice and was probably in the contracts last year, it's just Hearthstone that's making it something worth talking about. It's more like a McDonalds employee can't eat at Burger King while they're on the clock at McDonalds, which makes perfect sense. The wording isn't that they can't stream Hearthstone, just that they can't do it while they're streaming League of Legends.

They stream on their own free time and get their income from streaming from a source other than Riot. I don't even get how Riot can/will enforce this. What are they gonna do? Ban Dyrus for playing Hearthstone on his free time? It'd be like the Miami Heat benching Lebron for a game because they caught him playing two hand touch in the park with friends. It just makes Riot look like a bunch of paranoid control freaks. Not a good image for company growth.

Why the fuck would they need to say that when this is the S4 LCS player guidelines. Nobody other than Riot runs LCS events and I'm pretty sure they don't need a line in their guidelines saying they're not allowed to advertise DotA 2 in their own events. The whole section is called "Sponsorship and Streaming Restricted List".

If you were concerned about the viewer experience then you shouldn't be a professional gamer; you could probably just make more money a-la WoDx not playing chump NA LCS and stream w/e the fuck you wanted.

Again, the difference here is Razor pays you to use Razor at all times. Riot doesn't pay LCS players for their streams as far as I know. If the contracts say Riot expects you to stream and promote league of legends whenever streaming then maybe this is a reasonable move? It's a matter of how the money comes in. If Riot isn't paying the players to stream, then it doesn't make sense for them to control what appears on stream.

proposed solution: have your stream listed as the other game while you are in queue and have the client minimzed. Enforcing plot hole: not going to happen

The thing that leaves a bad taste is how it's targeted at a laundry list of specific games rather than generally targeting other games--that's what makes it seem douchey.
