I think we should make Buckshot able to be cast while moving while we're at it, it's way too laggy to use properly while kiting currently.

i know you are being sarcastic but the game honestly feels much more fluid and in the end fun on champions that can use spells while moving. its probably imbalanced as fuck if they just flipped every ability to cast while moving but its tons of fun too.

the general paradigm is for targeted skills to stop movement while self casts don't. there are exceptions on older champions such as gangplank and janna, but this rule is fairly consistent to my knowledge. orianna is a unique case due to her mechanics, and as mentioned below syndra is an even better example of an exception for champions with object manipulation mechanics

I don't think every ability should be castable while moving. Ardent Blaze, however, should because it's supposed to give Lucian kite/chase potential and doesn't.

A lot of Lucian's issues stem from this. His range is an issue because he can't kite/chase effectively. Part of the reason his ultimate feels so weak is because it feels like it should make up for that, but doesn't (especially when you're often forced to use it against the tanky front line when you'd rather just kite/chase with a better AD). This change wouldn't solve all his problems, but it would at least make his QWE a functioning set of skills, allowing his ultimate to play the clean-up role it was meant for.

Except the part where they have actually have and it's why even if the ball is on you there's a slight delay to the shield appearing, not even mentioning how the ball's travel time counts a lot too.
She can cast W and E while moving, iirc Q has a very short animation but apart from a slight pause you keep moving, and R has one animation.

Better example would be Syndra who has an extremely short auto animation (Ori has a slight wind-up), can cast Q and both parts of W while moving and the most important spells (Q and E) are pretty much instant, contrary to Ori. She also has one of the smoothest auto animations in the game. Better example.

It wasn't, Daniel Klein has stated again and again (and again) that the purpose is to be used when a normal spell wouldn't, so either because you're so zoned you can't even kite (to let you deal damage where other ADs would either do 0 or plain die), or because all of the remaining targets are out of range.

I think my favorite skill to add movement during would be tumble. The speeds would be additive so you'd fly across the screen as if you'd turned on jet packs, and you'd have total movement control so you could do little u turns and shit.

Actually I think all kinds of skills would be hilarious with tumble... What if she could rappel with it? She'd tumble straight up into the air and then fall down and land on someone.
