Personally, I think 5 individual players picking 5 strong heroes individually should look fundamentally different than a pro team picking a coherent teamcomp, but for various reasons, this is not the case right now. Well, I can tell you the reason...its because competitive play is currently being dominated by teams with high individual skill and then snowballing leads generated in laning without ever engaging in a 5v5 (because someone always dies). That is basically soloQ, except its "picks" rather than pure facechecking. Incidentally, some of the best teams at Worlds played styles I think could never function in solo queue. You can't jungle like Lovelin does in solo queue. No matter how high of a level of play you're at, it simply makes zero sense to expect to be successful playing a style that requires 100% faith in your laners to make good on the fact that you're basically sacrificing yourself for them, and requires 100% trust that when you go ham 1v5 in the most absurd scenarios, they will follow up and clean up. It's just not possible to put that kind of faith in 4 players you don't know and have no direct communication with. Even if you are all top-of-the-world players, it's still a prisoner's dilemma at best.

Even if you are all top-of-the-world players, it's still a prisoner's dilemma at best. For sure, there are a lot of actual differences, for instance, longer laning phase which means you cant do a 0CS jungler because you would just fall too far behind. Or 3v2/ 2v1 dives at lvl 3. But those are mostly execution-based differences. Stylistically they seem more similar than not. In fact, the metas merged more in S3 because of that kind of snowballing/pick/splitpush style. In the beginning of S3 they were certainly much more divergent.

There just isn't a Snowmerdinger's chance in hell your faith will be rewarded.

We have the thread for a reason - if everyone posted their exciting updates all the time in here everyone would ask for it to be located somewhere. I am happy for all TLers that show improvement, but if there's a place for it, then use it. There's a difference between being excited for promotions and "omg look I played a game with a famous streamer"/"check out this 30/2/15 score I had!" posts. Not really... They're both in the same consistently present, consistently worthless category.

I don't think that's something Riot can control, it's something that will develop, just like now, pro play very different than solo queue. But the format should stay highly similar imo.

Honestly I don't see how Morg is playable against all the FotM in solo queue. She moves too slow. Her Q is too slow. Her W clears too slow, and her ult takes too long to go off. On top of that her cooldowns are long.

My favorite time was when I tried to Q Vi and she ulted through it taking no damage and then I ulted on 5 people and then they all all pounced, tumbled, and walked out. Then I walked around for 5 seconds while we lost the game. Honestly I don't see how Morg is playable against all the FotM in solo queue. She moves too slow. Her Q is too slow.
