Yeah, tell me which solo laners would rush that. Ganking junglers? Of course they'd love that, it'd be a gold mine for a strong cc jungler to simply run at you and start hitting, the active allowing them to conserve their gap closers/cc (think Amumu, Maokai, Lee's Q, etc.) for after you blow your escape/flash. But you wouldn't see a solo laner use it, because you dump 1500 gold, which isn't too much, into pretty weak stats (albeit universally useful) and the guy working toward his Tiamat will trash you every single trade. 1500 gold isn't excessive for a full item for supports or junglers, meanwhile. | ||

In competitive no matter how cheap you make an item I highly doubt we'll see it become popular as vision control and oracles are just far more important. They just have much higher impact that shurelias on the overall game scope. | ||

Imagine an item that gave you +15 armor, +15 mres and an aura effect "Grants you and nearby allies additional hp5 whenever at least 1 nearby unit is attacking a turret". It wouldn't mean shit for any type of carry or tank to buy this, and if the price is fair (say 1500g total) it will be easily accessible for a support or jungler. | ||

also I don't know why people think buying wards in solo q is any worse than in the pros, Picks are so fucking easy if you ward the shit out of the map vs some selfish ass support with 3 sightstone wards only. | ||

I think making items like that will still be easily punishable by the other team's support not buying those items, and instead buying many wards and oracles, and proceeding to get lots of pick offs. However, the core idea here is that a solo laner or a "carry" role would never pick it up because of how cost-inefficient it is when it comes to combat stats. On the other hand you've got stuff like Twin Shadows which is interesting and with a somewhat "reasonable" price, however because it doesn't give much AP for a slot it's seen as very situational for solo laners (only seen Morgana and TF pick it up competitively) and the AP's cost still put it on the higher end of support-affordable items. %MS combined with the active is super strong for roaming, MR is a defensive stat so supports like it, and the active if picked up early enough is pretty strong too. It's a nice example, I'd like to see more stuff like that, maybe less pricey but with reduced stats (for example keep the amp tome rather than a lucky pick, reduce the AP, drop twin shadows to 1500)? | ||
