When C9 is the only western team in the Quarter finals, Think they get put up against Mineski by riot to try to put a western team into the semis? and if a western team manages to take a spot in the QFs then they will probably go up against C9 to guarantee it. ? Why do you think Mineski will make it out of group stages? I think he meant Gama Bears(got SEA and GPL mixed up), which is still not some guaranteed easy match that puts c9 straight to ro4 against the 3 korean teams. If riot sets up the bracket poorly enough that the teams that got through to QFs automatically had to play each other, then thats not exactly much of a benefit, as you'd be seeded, BUT have to play against theoretically the best teams despite being seeded. its almost certainly going to be the seeded teams vs the group stages advancements in the QFs
EDIT:
Essentially most of riots decisions regarding the world championship make little sense if they are doing the tournament as a way of determining the best in the world. It makes complete sense to have made the decisions they made if they view the tournament as marketing and entertainment. The best way to ensure the most viewers is to set up the bracket so that representatives of all regions have a reasonable chance of moving on. Rather than setting it up so that Sword plays the weakest group stage (mineski/western team) advancement, China 1 plays the second weakest. and Gama bears and C9 play the first place group stage winners.Which is objectively how the brackets should be set up.
My expectation is that riot will remain consistent in how they handle worlds as they have in the past, without compromising the tournament entirely. I suppose i could be wrong. but that would put riot into the realm of just not understanding what to do properly.

Brackets are predictably stacked to get EU to quarters.
Wrong. Gama Bears are auto seeded.
Any 2nd place western teams would go up vs GamaBears (highest chance) or C9.

I think the KR3 is actually the strongest team in the world, and Najin Sword is really not deserved its seed.

Does anyone have any idea about whats the best way to carry ranked 5s? Me and my friend are diamond 4 and 5 in solo queue respectively but when we play with our three bronze friends it just becomes impossible to win when we're paired up against an all gold team. No matter how hard we try we just cant stem the bleeding from the three of them and end up losing.

Did all of my ranked matches and got placed into Silver II. Darius all day every day, and never not Darius.
But I have to say, man did I see some interesting things while getting there. For example, I saw a jungle Vayne, and a mid lane Sion that went legendary within the first 15 minutes of the game. I think my seeding matches had to be some of the weirder games I've ever played.
Ranked seems like a weird place to be. I'm looking forward to doing more of it though. Who knows what else I'll see?

I think the only real answers to this are either
A - Get smurf accounts
Or B - Do ranked 5's with your three Bronze friends for giggles and don't expect to win.
Or C - Don't do ranked 5's with your three Bronze friends.
This game really just doesn't support people of severely different skill levels playing together in a serious way, IMO.

What is it that is keeping them in bronze that you can't teach them in a day or less?
Rather than trying to carry them, teach them to improve themselves.

Bad habits cannot be solved in a single day or less. There's a reason why you see even pro players make certain types of mistakes even though they have been playing competitively for months/years.

They're at the level where they just need to spam games to get better such as csing. Sometimes I find that their cs is being doubled by the opposing laner ;/. Just wondering if anyone had any success with any strats.

I feel like good builds and cs can carry people out of bronze.

item build doesn't matter a whole lot as long as you are roughly getting items that do your job its much more important to smash your lane and call the shots

If they can't CS, then the easiest solution is to get them to play empty games and just last-hit waves of creeps until they hit 90-100 CS at 10 minutes consistently. If they can't do that, or are unwilling, then there's no hope.

CSing with no opponent is not the same as doing it against a player with more experience and most likely more skill at harassing.

is the twitch stream low quality option the same as 360p? because I'm constantly lagging now on all streams, and it's pretty annoying. my internet is terrible and I can only watch on 240p most of the time, sometimes 360p.

My bronze friends only log in every other night to play 1-2 games so I can't really ask them to just magically get better. I'm starting to think trying to get gold in ranked 5s with them might be too hard. It's definitely not worth the frustration trying to micro them around only to see that their mechanics get them killed before they can even auto attack enough times. Thanks for the help though guys.

Faker vs nukeduck. Let the 'plays' begin.

Fizz. My friend in Plat I just goes legendary in every game, and 1v5s while the rest of us just try not to lose lane usually. Got us to gold.
If you don't get gold from the initial 5 placements, it would probably be best to just remake the team. Getting to gold by going 5 - 0 in placements is about 10x easier than getting gold from Silver I. We had to play against teams made up of mostly plat/diamonds to get out of Silver I. Then once we were in gold we were back to playing against all silver-gold teams. Not sure if that was just bad luck, or if placements are intentionally much harder than regular matches. Edit: The rest of us are in silver
