Moreso if it defies the status quo and is contrary to what most people believe to be true. "WW is a good support!" should be backed up by proof. Real maths, comparisons describing why it is better then common supports, replays, stuff like that. If you don't want to back up everything you state as a fact, you should at least be able to provide proof if asked for it. Even stuff like "I am challenger and i say it works" is pretty good here. Insulting people is never useful. | ||

I can understand where people are coming from when they are irritated that someone with less experience and success state certain things as fact without backing that with logic or evidence. Nonetheless, people should remain relatively civil or just stop posting. As you say, insulting people is never useful and accomplishes nothing. I realize this is a message board and people aren't going to be little angels all of the time, and mostly I don't feel the need to comment on it, but lately, reading both GD and In-Houses, some peoples behavior is too abrasive and detracts from the forum. If I can no longer ignore people being ass-holes, then theres a problem, thats the only reason I posted in the first place. | ||

So, I really like the change to Triforce with the Phage change (well I liked the HP better but the speed boost is nice) and Sheen buff. Still, it wasn't changed much since S2 (at least far as I remember). Its basically been buffed several times, but it fell out of competitive play. Why was that? Was it because the champions it was good on fell out of play (like Corki or Jax) or because better alternatives to it appeared (like IBG)? This was brought up awhile ago, but philo is a pretty legit alternative to spirit stone. The gp5 is nice so you can afford wards and such a little more easily and if you feel you're going to be camping a lot. I don't feel much of a difference in clear speed either,except on guys who I go machete + atkspd runes on. The problem remains that it feels like a bit of a deadend item though. Ohmwrecker is still so awkward to build, and Shurleyas is just a pile of discounted but useless regen. I want to try Ohmwrecker on Fiddle jungle though, or maybe even TF. Still, hard to justify when wraithstone is so good. EDIT: I liked Bulwark, but really Aegis was a nice item as it was in S2. Amazingly good for the team, not super slot efficient for a champ by himself. | ||

And the giants belt build is up way more useful as well. It's in an odd place. It's a good midgame teamfight item still, but as you said the build-up doesn't always feel smooth. You can get it lategame, but it's not a *great* lategame item, and it never really was. I think if you get fed it's a good item to rush, but if you aren't fed you get stuck on crummy items for far too long and it delays your good items too long. | ||

Back in season 2, you could grab Aegis right after philostone, or after 2nd dblade, so you had a strong item timing with it, it had much more impact. There were plenty of things that got triforce removed from meta. IBG is a big reason, it offered more tankiness, the utility of sheen + phage, a more reliable usage of slow, without useless zeal stats (for those who didn't really need the zeal to be effective), and CDR. Also, BotRK became the de facto single damage item that bruisers needed. Triforce used to fill the niche of "I only need a single damage item, and *this* was it." Now BotRK fits that slot so well. The nerf to phages in early s3 were huge, the increased build cost and the crappy slow made it an awkward build up in lane. Also, been thinking about TF + fmallet thing I've been spewing on about. There are some more negative than I initially thought, in comparison to IBG. Though TF+Fmallet full build should do more damage than IBG full build, the timing for the effectiveness of these items are completely different. With the manamune->IBG, you can hit that kiting potential of EZ much much earlier than you could with TF+Fmallet, simply due to the CDR timing from IBG+ionian boots, vs just ionian boots. Not to mention the sheer cost difference between the item builds. | ||

Either it's straight defensive with Randuin's or SV or I go with something like Phage/Static Shiv (Yi)/Haunting Guise depending on what's the most useful to my team. If the support wants to get Aegis, okay, but even as a support I rarely get it nowadays. | ||

Play him top, and you'll know what I'm going on about. His kit just doesn't work out well for laning. He has no way to reliably harass someone from range, so you can't initiate any engage without being dragged beyond your creep wave, so your forced to play defensive. So what ends up happening is you get shoved on turret cuz you can't retaliate, and then you just have crappy time under turret for all of laning phase. I just found it funny how they thought FoN offered like no counterplay cuz insane amount of MR, so they removed it. But then buff SV to past FoN levels.
