Maybe stubbornness was the better word

A bad idea every now and then, well, that happens. Thing is, when shitty ideas are thrown around at the rate PX does it, it eats away at people's patience and willingness to spend time debunking them really fast. When on top of it he insists when he's been proven wrong (look at all that it took yesterday to make him stop pretending that SotD rush is good on Lucian and the way he waved off Monte's post the math of which clearly showed him wrong, now imagine everyone having to do that for every single one of his ideas to get him to stop defending them), well, people just want to tell him to shut up because it's not worth their time to roll out the full proof but they don't want lurkers to be exposed to shitty ideas either.

It's the fact that he has this idea in his head that it's ok to be the biggest asshole over the smallest things because he's bulletproof. I feel like more than half his posts are less along the lines of "shut the fuck up, you're stupid" and more "shut the fuck up you retarded bedmonkey you should have a fucking muzzle you're so mentally braindead". For someone that's been around this long and has been given a translator postion by the powers that be, that's a really shitty attitude to have towards anyone and makes our community worse for it.
PX is just dumb. There's nothing wrong with throwing out bad or insane ideas. It's how new things come around, no one can deny that, but to stick with it, argue with anyone who raises any criticism, and to refuse to provide any evidence other than "I think it's a good idea so shut up" isn't the sort of person that TL needs. I come to TL for BW, SC2, and League because I'm trying to get away from that shit on the LoL forums, Reddit, and sites like RoG or Mobafire.
Both bans were perfect, and I think if the two of them come back and keep up the same shitty attitudes, they should eat another ban. We don't need people like that on this forum.
If you look at the amount of posts Roffles have actually flat out just told people to stfu, it's actually quite few compared to the majority of his posts. People just assume he's saying it all the time on these forums because they mix up what he says on teamspeak or w/e.

On the other hand if we're talking about MMR's & ELO's, a 1500 (the Gold 5 minimum) will absolutely get demolished by a 1900 (I believe this is around D5 now??). 1900 is plat 5 I believe
At least that's what lolking says about my elo and I've been at plat 5 0 points for a few months now before deciding to get back into ranked.

This is just nonsense.
These forums are here to stimulate discussion among people that enjoy League of Legends, not to "educate the unwashed masses". It should not be acceptable to be denigrating to other forum members simply because you are a more experienced or superior League player.
I'm not a high level League player, but I enjoy the game a great deal, and TeamLiquid has been the best forum to discuss the game among players who feel the same way. This should remain a forum where people who are interested into discussing League can freely post what they feel, regardless if other disagree with their opinions. There's no need to humiliate other posters because you think their opinion is garbage.

Also tbh I do think that Roffles has been a little excessive lately. He's been carrying people's posting records in his head and it's been making him less objective.
Still, most of the time they deserve it.

We understand that bad players have opinions. They're just bad opinions a lot of the time.
These forums are here for whatever reason we decide they are here. You're free to post whatever you feel, just like we're free to post whatever we feel about what you feel. If we feel it's dumb and can back it up with experience then why should we have to hold our tongue about it?
In contrast to your opinion, I feel that if you're going to post in this forum you have to have a certain level of respect for the people in it, and therefore should not post complete garbage. People come here for high-level strategy discussion. We have outlets for creativity and it is encouraged, but coming in here and saying your opinion as a bronze 5 has as much weight as a poster in challenger tier is basically insulting us and calling us bad.

Lolking isn't accurate though, its just based off league + division + LP. Or at least that's how it was last time I checked.
D5 is definitely not 2200 elo.
EDIT: Last time PX was here he killed Bly, this time he killed Roffles. Well, not really but sort of.
I bet next time he tries to kill Yango or Monte, except if he tries Yango this will happen.

Don't need to humiliate them, cuz their opinions already going to do that. The problem is px can't seems to get the hint that his ideas are shit and are almost all wrong . The problem is he passes his idea as if they're the truth. 'Scaling runes are always better than flat runes', like what bullshit is this? If he wanted to start a discussion about the runes he could have just as easily said 'how do scaling runes work out in comparison to flat value runes?' Same applies to his other stupid ideas. 'Ohmwrecker is good item on kass' as opposed to 'when is a good time ohmwrecker should be purchased in game?'

I agree. I do recall it was 2200 elo LAST season for Diamond 5. But I also recalled back then when you played someone 400 ELO higher than yourself, it was noticeable. This season, excluding a few exceptions a majority of diamond 5's in solo q hasn't impressed me. Oddly enough, Diamond 4 from Diamond 5 players are noticeably better in most instances.

Why do you stimulate discussion if you're not doing it to learn about the game?

I think Math would have to become a banworthy offense first.
Seriously though, I was going WTF when his follow up to my mathematical smackdown of his SotD Lucian build was to imply I hated math. His "practical situations" response that came later was almost as confusing, but not quite.

That's not what I'm saying no. What 'you' or anyone else, might think is garbage isn't necessarily such. It's not a problem to criticize someone when they propagate some outlandish theory, it's a problem when you are nasty to them.
Sure, these forums are here for whatever reason the mods care for them to be, but I imagine an important reason is for them generate discussion among people about League of Legends.
I may very well agree with you if you are exasperated by someone posting nonsense over an over, but I think showing a modicum of respect to other posters is important too.
I like the fact that these forums are well moderated so not every whim is posted as a new thread, I just prefer people to not be a bunch of cunts in the process.

I'm not surprised about this. and based off the population distribution you can really feel the people that either get boosted to a new division or try hard to get there then give up and dick around. I was having pretty good games in bronze 1 doing well everyone trying to do good. then i got promoted to silver 5 and its way fucking worse than b1 lol. i wonder if silver 4 will be better. i also wonder how much of the ranked population is in division 5... its like... over a third.
but also you don't have to insult someone to tell them they are wrong.
