Or sometimes they just make Youtube videos about using Zhonya's in inappropriate situations as a taunt. Yeah I know you think GP10 is an evil evil thing. It probably is, but it's sort of the world we live in, as it were. I don't know that we're getting much out of this discussion anyway. I basically agree with you, I'm just saying I don't think Riot is going to be making many more 1k gold items and I'm trying to explain why I think they won't. I think they're much more likely to shoot for the 1.5-2k range, which would still be small enough to make them slot inefficient for other roles. Ruby Sightstone is 1.5k, incidentally.

Lower level players forget to pop their pots/flasks in trades all the time, which is the exact same thing as what Ketara is saying about them not using item actives. Sightstone provides pretty much the amount of stats you could put on a ~1k gold support active item. I don't see why Sightstone is a poor comparison. For example, by cost, Shard of True Ice's active is worth ~350 gold. You could easily put this onto a 1k gold support active item, and still have room to add combat stats onto it--but instead Riot chose to put it on an unwieldy combination of Kage and Mana Manipulator. Man, if Shard of True Ice built out of a Kindlegem instead, I'd get that shit ALL THE TIME.

They should just swap the active item effects of Sightstone and Shard.

Super cost efficient, moderately slot efficient, dead end. Or maybe have them but with some ridiculously cost prohibitive upgrade. Maybe introduce some weird consumables and actives as well.

Remember back where the current Locket is being removed from the game? Does Alaric's post mean I win the internet argument since I said you can't make these support items till you nerf Locket like they're doing? I want it to mean that.

Honestly, I'd like to see a Philo Stone item that just eliminates the Regen stats entirely and gives something useful. Like If they rebalanced Shurelias + Made an item out of Philo that Just gave flat movespeed + a slowing active that was ground targeted.

Gives 80 AP Unique Passive: -10 AP for every 100 AP you have. so that it's only cost efficient if it's your only AP item. Then maybe put an active on it or whatever.

Riot would never fucking implement that. They don't like the idea of "taking" things away from players. A cool idea would be scaling mana regen based on # of people around you. So it'd be like mana manipulator except more mana regen aura based on # of allies and enemies nearby.

It wouldn't be a support item, it'd be an all-in item for and AP with high base damage and an early power spike. Also, just as a nitpicking point, you couldn't possibly allow that to be a unique passive, because it would mean that if you stacked 3 of them, you'd only get the -AP from one of them, LOL.

Clearly this idea has some problems. Re: Evo, I watched the end of the Smash Bros tournament, it really looked like some intense shit. Fighting games are pretty cool.
