the logic should be obvious but yeah, sunfire gives armor and hp, wits end gives magic resist(you can keep it stacked to full via minions easily). Both items deal magic dmg, wits end removes 25 magic resist. Mainly for champions who deal primarily magic / onhit dmg(shyvana etc) I think the Wits/Sunfire Shyvana combo seems pretty awesome. Anybody tried it yet? Could try it on Mundo too, maybe.
i went top shyvana and build whatever i want in normal games and went legendary or close in all 3 games my tests tell me its op
i think i went sunfire wits and frozen mallet in 1 game or something kinda sucks when you cant chase that well, maybe should get ghost

Sunfire is a much more 'splashable' item where as the combination of AS and MR on Wit's End makes way more specific in its usage. Problem is, most games where Wit's is good, a Bulwark would probably be a better pickup to complement it on the champs that enjoy Wit's (Shen, Warwick, Udyr)
I agree if you replace Bulwark with Randuins.

Try the hecarim thread, right here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=341191

yeah i read the hec thread but its so dead. i guess people assume hes 100% ban TT EDIT: and thread is so dated TT

I mean, post your build there, and people will comment on it. It's a more appropriate location than in GD; it's why champion threads exist.

i havent seen hecarim in months banned wtf?
i also tend to get wits end over bulwark 90% of the time on warwick and udyr sunfire doesnt make much sense on either (dependso n lane tho) but it does on shen

Is there any reason why Galio couldn't work as a tanky top laner right now considering all of the double AP (and even triple AP, occasionally) comps with AP top laners (Kennen, Ryze, Elise)? Relying on Galio as a primary source of damage isn't great considering he is ult reliant and his ult is easy to cancel, but it still seems good as a source of initiation. He can push hard if necessary, can peel reasonably if he has to, and can just build chalice/visage and laugh at the enemy laner for a while.

See now Slayer leaves me.
I want to actually have an intelligent discussion about this buff swap strategy but every time we actually start one nobody seems to want to talk about it, they just say "no it's stupid" and then don't discuss it any further.

I still ban Hecarim. He's weak enough now I don't really fear him, but he falls into the "I don't really trust my team to deal with him appropriately" category.
|
its hard to form intelligent replies while you're in the loading screen for games i was just playing devils advocate for the purposes of debate i dont actually hate your strategy i have the reply screen open anyways

But there are like 10 more champs that are a lot more dangerous in the situation of not trusting your team lol.

I'm not 100% certain you even necessarily NEED speedy shoes - Tabis are another option (you're not reliant on merc treads)
Where do you like to go from here? If you're going tanky, it may be when you want to pick up runic/SV (your MR is on the soft side since you only have an armor item, though you do have a nice healthpool)
Do you ever delay the IBG for an MR item (even just a vanilla negatron) in games where you need more MR?
(Edit: Also, people WILL notice if a champion thread gets bumped with new discussion material.)

Gotta learn to multitask and lose games by posting on TL during them mang. It's how we stay bad.

he absolutely would work in this meta and if hotshot was still playing, i have no doubt we'd see galio and swain top more
|
yeah everyone forgot about galio he's still stronk against double aps this his w gives him enough armour to be fine against adcs for a short period of time he gets in range of them
|
I feel like the only problems galio has is heavy reliance on a 'dodge any direction' skillshot and relatively low sustained damage. Tele Flash Galio could abuse the SHIT out of distortion boots, though.
|
yeah his problems with that dissapate a lot in 5v5 poke wars where he takes barely any damage and the only way to dodge is backward cause otherwise you can get hit with all manners of shit

I am also pretty sure that questions about builds is pretty appropriate in the GD. I mean not as appropriate as Pokemon but you know.

With regards to bans, I always ban whatever is getting nerfed to shit next patch. That should be the optimal ban pattern if you're looking to improve.

your right i dont need the speedy shoes but its just the best thing i could think of with having tenacity already. i think the slow reduction is really underated on those shoes.

Also, tying back to a previous discussion, Galio could actually be a good user of Crucible.
