It was mentioned, I think by Req, that "Oh, this 2v1 thing came along and that wasn't really a big thing, and I guess now there's the double-adc comp coming out, but that's a small change too..." But think about that for a minute... We've gone from (and yes, I'm generalizing here for the sake of illustrating a point) Top Bruiser/Mid AP/Jung AP or Utility Bruiser/Supp+Adc Bot, a strong tactic, to seeing 2v1, turret rush lanes to counter that strategy, which has opened up the ability to have a second Adc in the mid lane. If this 2Adc strategy takes a firm grasp on the meta, we'll then see team compositions that are designed specifically to counter that which will add more variation once again.
The meta evolves, and will continue to do so whether Riot puts their hand into the pot and stirs things up a bit, or whether they let it simmer and stew and slowly bring all the flavour together on its own. That's kind of stretching. It's the same comps with the same farm priority and the same characters aside from seeing some ADs mid.
When was the last time you saw a roaming support? A squishy jungler? Hell, an assassin who wasn't Zed/Kha(/Diana if you want to call her an assassin)? What happened to AP/Support lanes, or double bruiser lanes? You can say, "Well, they have counters", or "Well, they just don't work as well as the current environment", but at least it'd be different, you know?
Again, I'm not advocating changing everything, I have no problem with the current situation. I just don't see a reason why there can't be anything else, and why a lot of different things seem to get shut down before they can come to fruition.

I wonder how many supports they go through before getting a new AD.

Afaik Genja is their analyst/thoerycrafter, so quite a lot.

? I never, ever trolled SC2 or hung out in any chatrooms or topics. Most of my posts on TL have been in this thread actually.

The majority of people in the recent discussion want it to be 100% serious, for learning, not just fun troll-games like I'm sure you're talking about where the Platinum-Diamond players go Heimerdinger mid against the seriously playing Silvers.

Probably HD. I wouldn't recommend anyone to play with him.

I feel like somehow, there rarely are 10 people wanting to play "normals" at the same time these days...

You obviously missed those. And its good that you did. Weren't all that fun cause some people took it too seriously while others were trying to have fun. This even happened when NA made LiquidPractice with the intention of having inhouses where we tried to get better, but we'd have a weird split between silver/gold people trying to get better, plat/diamond people trying to get better but not really trying to help their opponent get better, and people who just wanted to dick around. Basically came down to the problem that we just couldn't get a cohesive group of 10 people together that had similar goals. And TROLLS would get 10stacks showing up when it was newer (and Monte was more active instead of being super busy), but now we mostly are relegated to doing normals with 5 to try out our new shit.
@Requizen: We see "squishy junglers" every time someone (Nk Inc, many koreans) pick Evelynn jungle. We see roaming supports pretty heavily when theres a 2v1 swap and the support roams at level 1 to help their jungler invade the opposing jungler's 2nd buff camp. Just because you're a roaming support doesn't mean you NEVER sit in a lane to get some exp.

So what's the "standard" idea for blue ez build now? I backed off from it for awhile and played it in a game earlier where I realized I wasn't sure what to get anymore. I did dblade > tear> elder > manamune > gauntlet > LW > BT and it just seemed like with the elder in there it took me too long to ramp up and be effective. I know blue ez has a long build up time but this time it seemed longer then what I remembered.
