Don't buy Move speed quints unless u jungle. AD/AP flat quints are the best. AD/Magic pen Marks, armor seals are the only ones u need, and MR/scaling glyphs... thats all u need for both AP and AD.
Not good advice tbh. Movespeed quints are good on everybody 'cept maybe AD carries.
Mvsp quints actually very good on ap mids. I run 'em on my Ryze runepage for example.

I've been playing a lot of Jayce. Also play TF (mid), Thresh (support), and Graves ADC.

Why is Youmu's Ghostblade never bought? BC really isn't that amazing anymore and imo Youmus just gives a lot more if you don't have a lot of AoE / multihit physical moves. Even for AD casters, though some of course like BC more.

The only must-have runes imo are flat armor yellows and flat/scaling magic resist blues. Those can be run on basically every single rune page. Marks are always armor pen, magic pen, or flat AD. Quints are the most versatile; basically any of the 2k IP quints can be used.

Items like Zekes are great, because you're making a calculated investment in certain members of your team and are making the assumption that you are going to be with them, allowing for stuff like split pushing to mess up that. The problem is that this implicit pressure is ONLY acting on the jungler because out of habit people don't consider them on the carry roles. I don't think this is a design problem more than people being accustomed to being able to itemize selfishly on those roles. If the expectation was that the top laner and/or the mid laner helps out in carrying these important team items, then suddenly you have more room to play with in terms of who gets what items, while maintaining that implicit push toward team-oriented play. I don't see the need to incentivise team fighting since there are already obvious advantages to grouping up anyway. Even if top goes for bulwark he still is buying an item thats boring and just to help the team, theres no fun in it and I don't see how it helps the game at the competitive level either. Locket I'm more okay with because the timing of the active is important, so its not just buy it and stand close to people.
Here is why Top doesn't buy Aura items while jungle does:
Solo Power Aegis (2150)/Bulwark (2950) vs. Phage+Zeal/Sheen (~2600) or Sunfire (2600) or even Cutlass + Components or Giants + Wardens, the Aura item loses trades.

The only really must-have runes are armor yellows, since they open up the entire role of jungling for you. It's incredibly awkward to jungle without armor yellows except with the most durable of champions.
But yeah, there's a reason why AD reds, armor yellows, and MR blues are in the cheapest price tier, and it's not because they're worse than the other ones. It's because Riot doesn't want there to be a huge barrier to getting a workable rune page while still having the IP sink there for those with too much IP and not enough energy regeneration per level runes.

Apparently the shopkeeper on Howling Abyss has lines unique for some champions. I switched to mercury hammer on Jayce and he said "I had a Mercury Hammer once... it was much bigger." And something else when I acceleration gated. Also think Heimer gave the win for science quote..
