Only a few people caught it on my stream last night, but I played her as my last game. I was 2/1 at this point I think. Got 2 man ganked, 1v3 vs Kat, Malphite, and Nasus. Killed 2 and walked away as my team came to clean up the 3rd.
Really glad she's not popular, I wanna take ALL the credit for her. pr0lly played her in the LCS so you won't get too much hipster credit for playing her.

I can vouch that Soniv was pimping Annie at PAX a few weeks ago, but there's no proof. =P

I won all my games as support Annie, just saying. Hehe. Distortion boots are kinda sweet.

Annie is still pretty strong.

The Ashe arrow to stop Malp and Nasus from following you was pretty good, too. Well, Ashe was pretty good full stop.
Taric Graves' a pretty annoying lane. I know if I bait cooldowns and play it well Leona can do 0K against Taric, and that Sona/Zyra/Lulu can do somewhat well as long as they abuse their range to poke/push without getting stunned, but apart from that I wonder which support I could pick consistenly into Taric while having a good success rate (won't go Leona against Taric/Graves, too tough to pop, and more dependant on my teammate than other lanes).

'Tis quite sad really.
There aren't many match ups that I dislike when I'm playing her. You can also pretty much build whatever items you need, her inherent power is amazing. I love the flexibility.
@alaric: yeah our Ashe was good. I love having her on my team with Annie. Actually, I love anyone who has any form of hard cc. Makes chain stun -> death super easy.

To be entirely honest, after careful review of your games I believe that the main reason Annie works for you is that having less base MS than Singed she doesn't let you overextended as much before somebody reaches you.
|
Annie's damage really falls off hard; you'd really have to abuse her midgame power spike. She also doesn't have any real "outplay" gameplay, which is pretty boring.
|
Lol screw you Alaric <3 (although that's probably accurate)
I don't agree at all with you wei2cool. In what world does Annie's damage fall of any differently than any other burst Mage? And where else are you going to find a burst Mage that can churn out aoe stuns as rapidly as she can?

actually i like annie a lot, mostly because of panda annie and panda annie's recall animation. and annie's skipping animation when walking.
also i keep looking up lol fanart on pixiv (japanese ver. of deviantart). everything is so adorable, lol.
and then there's the weird stuff but i can close my eyes.

annie has no range, reliant on flash to initiate, inconsistent stuns

Edit: Also when everyone is just playing diving assassins who needs range?

Any champion with AOE CC really don't fall off at any stage in the game, especially a burst mage who can cover so much of a squishy's full lifebar. Annie is hard for an ADC to retaliate against, free AP-scaling thornmail tyvm. Her weakness isn't "falling off" - it's Range. She doesn't have poke, and her preferred way to handle "we're getting poked" is force a hard engage - on which she is reliant on flash or someone else to 'help' her engage. If you can force that successfully, you're fine. If they can disengage from you, you're a sad little girl.
But yeah. If everyone's playing divey assassins, fuck range, Annie has notable durability and churns out stuns pretty damn fast. Stuns make assassins pretty damn miserable.

In lategame fights Annie also benefit from Molten Shield a lot. +60 armour/MR tends to make you a lot harder to kill without focus fire (she also has a pretty high base armour for a mage iirc), and with some CDR the uptime is pretty darn good (10s base cd, 5s duration). Add to that that Tibbers burns for 35 + 0.2 AP per second while he autoattacks for 130 damage, and Molten shield punishes autos by 60 + 0.2 AP: anybody trying to kill you with autos while being in range of Tibbers is going to take almost as much damage from that dps than from your spells. She doesn't have Orianna's or Syndra's sustained damage (when talking about low cooldowns champs) on spellcast, nor Zyra's pet sustained damage (but that thing is nuts, that's 241 + 0.36 AP dps from 2 plants hitting the same target with the ult's steroid at level 18), but her combination of the 2 makes her better than a lot of burst mages as long as the team compositions don't rely on your one-shotting theirs.
Also Annie can at least initiate. Viktor has low range on his ult too and he can't initiate either. Ryze can't initiate without flash. Etc. I'd be more annoyed by her lack of wave clear—as in it's low range despite the good damage (there aren't that many non-ultimate AoE spells with a 0.75 ratio, Brand needs to set all the targets ablaze to do it, Morg needs them to sit still 3+ seconds), and you'll use your stun to do it at some point so it'll leave you with a window of vulnerability.

Not enough horizontal space to dodge his laser, and he can angle it to go horizontally anyways. Start death laser rod then get a chalice/grail and you just spam that crap for ages, completely eviscerates the enemy team and can burn through even the most sustain oriented team. Screw resists, scaling AP page and 21/6/3.
Only downside is it doesn't work against Yi that well. I think the range's too short and he leaves himself too vulnerable with it.
This is the second time I've heard someone complain about Viktor's laser range in the context of an ARAM. I don't get it, it's one of the longest ranged non-ult spells in the game after Nidalee's spear and sieged Xerath. It's just a few ticks shorter than those and can be casted diagonally on top of that. One of the few normal spells that can hit an entire team from an obnoxious distance and go straight through minions. And you can move while casting it, making it harder to juke while juking yourself. Every time I get Viktor and I'm not against a Yi, their entire team is cowering under their tower in pretty short order and getting sniped one by one.

Also one situation where I escaped after a tower dive at like 300 hp and have their jungler chasing after me, I find a huge enemy creepwave and SLLLUUUURRRPPP it, healing to 1800 hp and then kill the jungler xD This build is so legit.
Ravenous Hydra also turns jungler ganks on like toplane where you have a large wave pushing towards your tower into something completely hilarious.
What order do you build those items in? Hydra first ?

Yes, range is her biggest weakness. But the way the meta is right now, people are perfectly happy engaging on me.

I can also confirm. Was at 3000 ping all game because Wi-Fi is so unreliable. Spent every teamfight mashing QWER, ended up 3 - 2 - 16, and we won. Annie #1 soloq mid.
