Before you curse me to die in a fire, here's what I think: As far as laning goes, supports are expected to have lane presence - well, every lane needs lane presence unless you are in a situation which you got counterpicked so hard that you don't care anymore. But supports do not need to last hit, so their pressure is lower in term of the number of things they need to do in lane. And for teamfights, supports again have low pressure because they are rarely targeted first. Lulu has high skillcap, right? But all you are doing in a teamfight is spamming your Q/E and press R when needed. Yes I do play support in soloQ, it's my second most preferred role. I don't think they have low impact, but it definitely does not take as much skills to play support reasonably competitively than other roles - Elementz is the prime example of this. Supports are also the ones that are watching the map and communicating if there is an opportunity to fight the enemy bot lane. ADCs try to cs perfectly and watch positioning. Supports need to be able to react accordingly incase enemy starts an engagement. Depending on who you are, you also need to be able to harass+poke effectively, like a Nami/Lulu. Very important to tell your carry if you're going to fight, as you will be engaging fights 95% of the time. Supports aren't the focus in team fights because they don't do damage. That doesn't mean they have low pressure.

That doesn't mean they have low pressure. I almost want to say that discussing the relative difficulty/skill level/importance support should be added to the list of topics that shouldn't be discussed... Also, support often is the most "reactive" role in a teamfight. The way I look at it is in a fight there are areas of high damage and low damage. Most roles try to put down damage where enemy champs are while trying to avoid the areas of high damage created by the enemy. Since the support generally has negligible damage output, his/her job is essentially to try and control these areas of damage so his allied champions take less damage, typically by preventing the enemy champs from laying down damage where they are, or in some cases shielding/healing them to mitigate the damage or giving their allies the ability to get away from these high damage areas. On the flip side, the support also sometimes tries to lock enemy champs in places where their team can lay down high damage. Most baller thing to do in the game: use Leona WEQ into enemy team, they all hop on you, you ult right on yourself then stroll out with like 100 hp while your team goes to town.

So people can keep talking about how support are for scrubs and how they lose soloqueue cause they "can't do anything", but at the end of the day, it's just because they don't understand the mindset behind the role

I don't see anything on Reddit or here about the Korean LCS, and the time that I spend watching LoL i would really like to focus on the people that are good and the established teams I already know from Starcraft. Is there no Korean LCS yet? We have spectacular coverage of the OGN leagues that serve as the "LCS" for Korea. See here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=407599

+ Show Spoiler + PERSISTENT EFFECT Now grants bonus damage equal to 15% of Udyr's total attack damage, instead of attack speed. STANCE ACTIVATION Bonus attack speed increased to 30/40/50/60/70% from 15/20/25/30/35% (total attack speed unchanged). Bonus damage changed to physical damage from magical damage. Scaling changed to 130/140/150/160/170% total AD from 150% total AD. O_O Am I thinking this is bigger then it really is or is this going to push udyr into firstpick/firstban status.

Any chance we could get the notable LoL people onto TL? Since they're starting to leave reddit. TL having rules against pointless bashing of people will probably help too

Love the yeti everywhere else but support. Edit: Funnest non-unorthodox (Fiddle/Yorick/Kayle/etc.) support definitely has to be Ali/Janna for me.

We already do, and yet (most) people wilfully ignore what we have to offer. Fuck 'em.

In jungle, monsters farm you. If you go in without a respectful attitude, you'll find yourself back at the summoner's platform without having recalled.
