Reason? Well at first it was pen build Katarina so I ate true damage, and they loved to cc me so I couldn't just ult her or trigger my passive. Then it was Garen's ult. Tank MF ult + Kata combo + some Olaf axes? np. Then Garen appears and goes "HEY DUDE YOU'VE GOT LIKE 2K MISSING HP LEMME HELP" and big broad sword to my face. We had a raidboss Shen in the team who had a similar reaction at one point, and a warmogs rushing Taric who yelled in chat (in French) "wtf shit man 1113 damage Garen ult?!". I had forgotten that this sucker hurts so much, and that he ignores the "stack HP to survive the magical burst" so well. 1k+ ults hurt when you only have 3k HP.(In the end it didn't matter because an ult on me or Shen meant our carries had a field day. Garen's Q + Sona's ult make for a very frustrating teamfight though, you only get one second to press your buttons and do stuff before you die.  ) | ||

By the time I encountered Garen and he focused me I had phage/stinger/belt/locket, so I just combined mallet and built wit's (needed some MR for Kat), the need for MR delayed the tenacity. I didn't really need to build damage anyway, as I already had long-term dps from W, a raidboss Shen (he managed to nab a kill on Olaf 1v3 and would have escaped alive if Garen didn't join with his mallet, after a lost fight), and AD Kennen did work. Getting focused by the only fed guy on their team (Garen) is supposed to make me pretty happy, so as long as I get to use Locket, ult somebody to mess up their positioning and trigger my shield, then hit till I die I played my role. | ||

He has a strong early lane phase, falls off a little bit in terms of damage later on against tanky people, although his combo is still very, very threatening for a squishy, but for teamfighting you really only need BC in order to shred everything for your ADC, and then clean up with ultimate. Flash ignite QEWR on a squishy will still finish them off with ease until they pick up a defensive item. Building pure tank+BC he takes essentially zero damage while W is up, so diving vs 3-4 people isn't too difficult if you didn't fall behind. | ||

Garen can be very good, but his mid and late-game performance is heavily dependent upon how he does earlier. Moreover, unless you're doing really well it's easy for your team to not have faith and leave you hanging when you go boss-mode. | ||

Would have been a lot better if you just said that the first time instead of the tongue-in-cheek comment. I guess I didn't get the statement the first time around because I don't follow football as closely. That said, onlywonderboy's comment is shared by the staff. We understand that there's a lot of Wingsofdeathx hate on TL because of his personality on stream. There's very few people defending him on that issue. It's really gotten to a point where we have a general consensus on said player and there's no need to beat a dead horse. Shake led the anti-Wings charge (and pro-XJ9 for that matter) and it's already ingrained as a part of TL LoL GD already. Bringing it up anymore is just ad nauseam. I don't see where people are being dismissive on the issue. | ||
