I mean 100 AP and 15% CDR it's gonna be must buy on every AP anyway.

As you probably all know, a lot of games in soloqueue devolve into people flaming each other, and shifting the blame around after a single small thing went wrong. This usually tends to lead to more things going wrong, and ultimately the loss of the game. Even if it does not, it is not a very fun experience. Thus, it is very useful to be able to stop this from occuring. What are your tricks for this? Basically, in my experience, telling them to shut up does not work, at all. It does not matter what words you use, if you are polite or aggressive, you will just be ignored and they keep jumping at each others throats. Usually it only makes them flame you, too.Though it sometimes works, IF you have someone else who says the same thing. If you have 2 people telling them to shut up, they listen from time to time. Of course, you need to have the discipline to not start flaming someone else, too. No matter what happens. Even slight underhand comments need to be avoided at all cost. This also makes it pretty hard to give people positive feedback, since any variation of "maybe you should buy a ward" after someone dies to a gank and starts flaming his jungler only feeds the flamemachine. It is probably better to just walk there and ward it yourself. What i have had moderate success with, though of course my sample size is low, is to try to get people to agree not to flame each other before the game, or at the start of the game. It usually gets seen as a humorous thing, and then it seems like less flaming occurs during the game. I have even lost a game, pretty hard, and NO ONE flamed or threatened to report anyone else. Once. Since this is a pretty important part of soloqueue skill, i would like to see the solutions other people here have come up with. Note: I am not looking for anything like "well, that sucks" "People are stupid", or something like that. What i am searching are ways how I ALONE as a player can influence this. I know it is possible, since from time to time i definitively have positive results. Thus, i want to improve my social mechanics for soloqueue.

Sometimes you can diffuse the situation by stating facts but usually it'll just make it worse. Someone ignoring flame and carrying is the best way to make ppl feel bad and stfu

The few times it actually works is when you have reasonable people that are for some reason on tilt but are not like that in general. So you can actually talk mind into them. But usually, it does not. Oh yea the only thing I do is, there is often 1 person who is flaming all game and for no reason whatsoever. I usually ignore him and try to tell the other people to do the same. You can't really stop him but you can at least try to make the other people not jump onto it.

What I do is: If people are flaming, tell them what to do instead. "Focus on winning guys!", "Focus on the game, Baron up in 2 minutes" and stuff like that. Don't tell them what not to do, don't even mention it directly, just tell them what to do instead. If someone stays in fountain I instead give them orders (as long as I am not the reason they went afk) like, "talon, get back in lane" or "go farm bottom riven, now" etc. Being all super nice probably is more likely to fail from my experience. When someone says something along the lines of "idc anymore", I use my probably most used anti-inflammatory line "but I do care". These techniques aren't 100% success, nothing is, but I find them helpful, they helped me along my whole path from 1300 to 2300.

I disagree by a lot. pre-nerf dfg could do up to 35% of your hp as damage, which made it easily possible to combo even a full tank down on certain chars. Now? It's an expensive item that might be worth it on many casters, but certainly not on every AP char like it was before they nerfed it.

Yeah, but he's pretty safe. You can Q and pool and never engage in matchups that suck for you, and just get to late game, or you can win lane in good matchups.

All I know is that Gunblade + Lich Bane + DFG is basically a sure kill every time on Akali. Well that and if you have the 400 AP necessary to hit 35% on S2 DFG you should be doing enough damage that the 20% amplification makes up the difference.

It does seem pretty retard status though, as someone mentioned on cass...hit a Q? DFG+EEEEEEEEEEE It just makes any champ with burst magic damage burst that much harder. I know syndra is not very competitively viable but jesus she can rip someone in half in <4 seconds easily. Same with leblanc.

When someone decides they want to afk in fountain I usually tell them something like this: "grow some balls and play." For some reason insulting a player's masculinity is very effective for getting him to not give up. I know it is technically a bit negative but if they are gonna lose the game because of afk qq, I think it is worth a try.
