During that time, the only time he's risen quickly in ELO is when choosing a hero that last hits easier than other AD carries (Draven's bonus damage) and with higher ELO players smurfing and duoing with him.
In a year, a semi pro SC2 player is what, a Gold LoL player with people carrying him? I hope he's planning on being entertaining the entire time, because he sure somehow has no idea how to improve. He wasnt good in SC2 either tho. I dunno, I'd say he relatively good at SC2. Certainly better than the vast majority of the population. This is a player who beat Bomber in a bo3 at one point in time. Mechanically he fell behind, but I'd say he was defintiely a revolutionary strategist. At start of SC2 it was him and PrinceXizor (ironically enough, lol) actually who originally popularized the Infestor. I havn't played SC2 in like a year and a half, but when I stopped playing everyone and their moms dog was screaming Zerg OP, infestors OP. Before Destiny made them super big everyone thought infestors sucked. I think you're giving Destiny far too much credit I never said he was some SClass player. Merely that he popularized the infestor and beat Bomber in a bo3. Which... he did. As far as a pro player he was less than mediocre, I'd agree. TLO popularized the infestor more than destiny ever could. Playing Random TLO realized the strength of infoestors. In SC2 Destiny preferred to complain about balance and only experimented when someone shoved it into his face. Destiny never branched away from flavor of the month or rage induced strats. He drone rushed me on ladder and ended the game with a "protoss op fuck this game." Don't bull shit about Destiny being an insightful gamer. It's not true. He rages and entertains and gains viewiers.
Destiny has always been a streamer first and a pro second. All the long debates in the SC2 section about how good he really is, are rather pointless in my opinion. His results in tournaments were mediocre, he was able to beat koreans from time to time but so were many eu/na pros. Just not consistently enough to place highly in tournaments with big korean participation.
I don't even think that people are entertained by him raging. He is very outspoken and is constantly interacting with his viewers or makes sure to have people with him in chat/game to keep his viewers entertained. The humor is just very juvenile and you're either into that sort of thing or not. I personally don't like it, but whenever I did turn on his stream, I could see what people like about it. Most streamers are way too quiet and don't interact enough with their voice. Video streaming is nice, but people can't really read facial expression and are anyway concentrated on the game. And Destiny is really good at constantly talking.

Who are these 2k viewers that watch him?
SC2 players who want to vindicate their hatred of LoL.
Destiny had a solid SC2 viewerbase before switching briefly to LoL, which got a ton of attention from TL.

On December 29 2012 15:45 wei2coolman wrote: The biggest issue I have with new jungle is machete; it's a 300 gold item sink. At least before if you dblade started back in S2, you could comfortably hold that into midgame, and it offered teamfight potential. Machete/Madreds, adds no teamfight str, other than armor; or at least during the build time of Wriggles you were allowed to have early game sustain with cheap lifesteal (vamp scept) I seriously feel like post madreds, you're stuck in this terrible limbo in jungle, where you're waiting for boots, cuz you need to be able to at least have a realistic chance at ganking, and then waiting for vampiric sceptre for being able to farm jungle for extended period of times. Which is like 1150 gold; which is fucking FOREVER, early on in the game.
In all honesty, I would rather have Madred's + Spirit Stone than Wriggle's right now. Especially since the passives have different names and therefore stack. #riotlogic They're also nerfing riven, which is beyond me, as to why they felt that was necessary >.> should be targeting item changes not champion changes~ imo. Should also make item for AP bruisers to start top; without dead end cloth armor, or 225 flask, that doesn't help progress build. If Riot wants for fluid lane choices, should offer some better item builds Spiritstone + madreds; never gank lanes ever? Morello hates Riven. He thinks She is "Toxic". Of course, he didnt realize that Rengar was going to be totally OP and toxic, or rework eve, but u know, RIVEN, Toxic. Riot couldn't balance a checkbook let alone their own damn game. I don't see why they have to mess with champions that are perfectly fine when there's obvious problem champs (Eve, Mumu, Taric, and Talon all sitting at 55% win rates) but no, RIVEN IS THE ONE THAT NEEDS THE RIOT GAMES NERF HAMMER, + Show Spoiler +MORELLO YOU SHITBAG GET FUCKED . I dunno. I mean, I agree that Eve have issues, that pertain to stealth in general rather than her—which saddens me a bit, because you can see the huge difference in positional play and timing that stealth on a squishy offers when you look at the way Misaya enters teamfights and the way a lot of people bumrush to 100-0 a squishy. There's definitely a lot of stuff to be done there, and that allows creativity, patience and how to differentiate good players from mediocrre players, but the basic level is already too high it seems. (A bit ironic of me to say that since I'm mad at Anivia for offering so much even when badly played, yet I don't mind Eve as much. Prob. because I like Eve's playstyle better and I'm also better at dealing with her than with Anivia in lane.)
Taric and Amumu seem purely soloQ related to me: against uncoordinated opponents a Taric-Graves combo will always be deadly, even though Taric doesn't offer as much as other champions during teamfights. Amumu is complained about for his ult but in the low-middle brackets it's generally bad positioning from people (and sometimes the bad positioning of a single carry is enough to offset the perfect one from the rest of the team) rather than Amumu being inately too string. Kinda like Xin before his rework had a noobstomper kit but started being weaker as you climbed up the brackets.
Talon's an assassin, and he's had a very recent surge of popularity with BC. People still don't play him up to his strengths (previous walls of text regarding BT, BC and LW yadda-yadda) while he used to be perceived as a situational counter-pick in s2. He's still susceptible to ganks, relying on a 16s cd to trade with a lot of opponents, with mediocrre waveclear until he gets enough AD (unless you save for a BF, AD progression is usually less smooth than AP progression in the earlygame).
Actually when talking about winrates shouldn't you correlate it to pick rates too? Amumu is systematically picked at lower Elo when he's not banned for example, and that's where his "instawin" status works best. Same with Taric, who seemed to be everywhere s3 (I guess because of the BC craze people thought his W aura would help), and Talon used to be a situational pick that not many people played. Where was he in terms of winrate before s3 came out? I remember Rumble being argued that he was so high because few people played him so they were probably more experienced with him than people playing more mainstream champions, and also more experienced in the match-ups (compared to, say, a Darius). I'll admit that Karma's winrate isn't stellar despite her excelling at the niche you'd expect her to be picked though.

Yeah, I'm watching it right now. After an ad I have to refresh, as it will get stuck on a black screen, but other than that it's running fine.

Why doesn't Riot just give every champion mana, remove stealth, remove all forms of healing away from fountain and hard CC (leaving only silence/slows) and be done with it.
IDK man, I just don't get this whole "toxic" business. Maybe it's cause I'm a bad player and don't understand why having a nuke on an item is innately broken and impossible to balance, or maybe it's because Riot is huge now and so there are random disconnects between what live balance thinks is toxic and what the designers think is toxic, but it all seems like a load of subjective nonsense to me.

It's a lot of new stuff, with still massive amount of experimentation and discoveries to be made. One thing that we are pretty sure of though, is that carries out of jungle aren't very likely. And while that might disappoint us for a while, we must not let ourselves get consumed by it. Spend too much time thinking and dreaming about what you want the game to be like and you will lose sight of the shore, get alienated and ruin your joy from the game. The true beauty of the game is discovering what it IS like and how it is to be played, however different it might be from both our expectations and dreams. Playing to win is the most pure way of playing, the most satisfying one in the long term and the most respectable one. Be at peace with reality, and you will be at peace with yourself. Can we just save these two comments and put them at the top of every LoL GD thread because 99% of the bollocks that gets spouted in these threads tends to be related to one of these two (elo hell thingy, stupid theorycraft is stupid thingy) Also, fuck having official LoL. Small communities keep peope in the game because they get to know people and voices get heard and idiots can get picked out easily. If you have huge ones it just ends up with mob mentality and furious mods trying to ban 90% of the population. It's a Catch 22 sort of deal, we all love the community this subforum has, but Neo (and the rest of the writers) would love to get more recognition for the amazing write-ups they do. Having TL officially recognized is the logical progression for all the hard work Neo, Moon, JBright, Yango ect have done. Although the staff is still far too small for this to happen anytime soon so it's more of a future concern than anything else.

i think ezreal sucks now. i really do.

I don't think Ezreal sucks, but he's certainly not obviously the best ADC anymore. The ADC pool seems pretty varied and reasonable right now.
Would be nice if the support pool was as varied and reasonable.

Ez doesn't suck, he's just safe. If you get behind you can farm with Q and you have the best escape in the game, but if you get fed you're not going to carry as hard as Vayne. In terms of damage it was always this way, but the lack of AS debuff on his W makes it so he just doesn't shut down the enemy ADC as hard anymore, making him look weaker in comparison.

My impression of Riven was that she was in a similar place to Wukong, fairly balanced but a subpar laning phase due to the lack of sustain. She does gain both offense and defense from building AD, but her damage is counterable. She is a strong late-game carry, but even when she gets there she isn't invincible (especially with the GA nerf).
If you want toxic, look at Akali. Give her an inch in lane and you've lost because she'll win every trade and heal up completely while zoning you.
So I don't really understand the "toxic" label anymore, and I'm not sure what Riot is seeing in Riven.
