On the spirit stone topic: I really like the upgrades to it, I think if they gave you a portion of those stats in a cheaper upgrade it would probably be a lot better. I think the spirit stone upgrade is an unnecessary step toward getting the tier 3 jungler item.

I have grown to like Flask instead of Spirit Stone on Amumu, it's a bit cheaper and with the strenght of Bulwark and Locket I've been reluctant to spend money on things that don't build into these 2 items. While it takes 1 more slot, you probably wouldn't want to buy wards just before finishing Aegis (because finishing it makes such a bit difference) and middle lane and support should have no trouble compensating by buying more wards at the point in game.
Spirit Stone is probably a brilliant buy against middle-AD teams though, because it build into the Spirit of the Ancient Golem and that coupled with Locket should provide great survivability (the worth of Aegis is a lot lower when enemy doesn't have much AP damage)

Actually, I think this is really ironic. The intent of Riot's jungle changes was to increase the viability of higher-position carry junglers who would get more farm. But making it hard for laners to take jungle camps makes it hard to swap farming smoothly between the jungler and laners (particularly mid, as mid can gank lanes, and efficiently clear small camps in between ganks/backing while the jungler takes mid farm). This makes it HARDER to assign lane farm to a jungler, and HURTS carry junglers because you can't give them lane farm without hurting your team's overall farm efficiency.
I don't think farm liquidity took a significant hit in Season 3. By the time fluidly moving farm becomes important any lane which hasn't completely bought the farm should be capable of clearing camps. It's a little harder, but not to an extent that would cause someone to say, "Nope, carry junglers can't work."
The bigger problem is that Riot didn't make farming the jungle significantly better, but mostly tried to make ganking worse. Because exerting pressure early is, so far, still a powerful way to jungle (though ensuring you don't weaken yourself too much is a much bigger issue) farming junglers pose a big risk. Even with perfectly fluid farming it's difficult for lane champions to exert pressure with the same degree of uncertainty as a jungler (it's a lot easier to know that a lane is missing than guess that a jungler is near). As a result the carry jungler better be capable of carrying hard because your lanes are going to have significantly less help compared to before.
What's holding carry junglers back still isn't farm liquidity, but that bad tradeoff. You can guarantee a champion like Jax, Tryndamere, or Riven farm greater than that of a single lane through farming the jungle and snagging creep waves in between, but at the moment it's still too risky in face of ganking junglers who'll win the game for the enemy team before your carry jungler is ready.
|
well right now, it's pretty easy to be certain of a jungler's movements so it's probably possible on a team that is trying to do just that. sightstone + 1 ward on support fully protects that lane, a couple wards on top protects them fully and mid can be someone who is incredibly difficult to gank for one reason or another.

I highly doubt that. I tried on customs how much gold you could get from just farming the jungle, and it was only around 65% of gold you could get from lane, when farming both jungles 24/7. In real situation that drops easily to like 40-45% and eventho lanes won't take every single creep and you can take some of them, I doubt you can never take enough gold from lane to bring it even or get you ahead. Supportish junglers are the way to go, sadly.

also spirit stone is better than philo for supports. and i highly encourage supports buy spirit stone over philo early on. I see people talking about wanting new skins for him all of the time, not that he needed a complete visual overhaul. Are there really that many people that won't play a champ just because of the way they look? Mechanics > visuals. After the rework I'm sure his played games will increase for a couple days, and fall back to the same levels almost immediately.

When you get reported, you don't get sent to the tribunal. That's a common misconception.
You accrue a report profile basically, something like report elo, based on how many reports you have and who is reporting you. Once that profile becomes "toxic" enough, then you are sent to the tribunal with a portfolio of your most recent reports. So from the observational standpoint, it seems like all sorts of bullshit ends up reported, but the generating process is such that most people have been reported for a ton of things.
The conditional probability of seeing false reports given that you've seen someone in the tribunal is much higher than the conditional probability of someone in the tribunal solely on accruing a false report.
The tribunal consists of like 2% of the playerbase, and I'm pretty sure more than 2% of the playerbase gets reported.

After getting entertainment from one too many LoL General posts where someone says "i got falsely banned" then Pendragon/Lyte or whoever comes in and smacks them around I've come to my own personal conclusion that assholes really don't understand that they're assholes.
Lots of them even say "i should've had a warning" or something to that nature. Then one of the reds comes in and says "9 temp bans weren't enough?" It's quite mind boggling.
Edit: As I post this http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=2898297 and since it's gaining traction and upvotes it might get a red /popcorn

Uh, all reports go to the tribunal. And if someone is reported for no reason, they hit the big "pardon" button. As someone who frequents the tribunal, I can tell you there are almost no reports like this. First of all and case where they were only reported by one person in the game has basically no merit. Either way, you then look at their k/d & items (if their k/d is terrible with troll items, don't pardon, if it's bad with normal items, they probably just had a rough game)
Then you go through the laborious process of reading the chat log. If you were a dick, the majority (out of ten I believe?) of the people reviewing the case will say that you require a ban, and you get banned.
None of those dicks who report spam would go through the trouble of doing the tribunal, the only people who do it now are the people who care about the community (because it no longer offers ip rewards I believe).
So no, you will definitely NOT get banned unless you are an asshole in your games
